The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Hey, a cool thing... I just found out that the History Channel show "Tactical to Practical" is going to be filming at our Phoenix office next week.Title sounded interesting enough that I had to look it up :) Here's what it's about--sounds cool:
Tactical to Practical
About Tactical to Practical: They say necessity is the mother of invention, and few situations rival military necessity. What is surprising is how often solutions to military problems turn out to be useful in everyday life. TACTICAL TO PRACTICAL is a new one-hour program from The History Channel that explores innovations developed for combat that have evolved into useful tools for civilian life. Hosted by Hunter Ellis, former Navy Fighter Pilot and SURVIVOR contestant.
Next Airing: Saturday, Mar 6 @ 4pm ET/PT
Survival Training/People in Space/Explosives: #9
Survival in war isn't just about dodging bullets, but keeping alive in extreme conditions. Explorers and adventurers also face life-threatening situations. Hunter Ellis tests new high-tech gadgets for your next adventure. Once a Cold War battleground, today's space race sees super-rich dreamers competing to launch space tourism--with $10-million in prize money at stake! Then, Hunter examines explosives--from the military to avalanche control, diamond mining, special effects, and fireworks. TV G

> Found it...
LOL! Thanks :) I had been digging through old comics trying to find it and wasn't having much luck so far, which surprised me because they had one of those in practically every issue for a while :)

Home now. Some damage. I'm a lot better off than others though. Some ripped up siding, a door, a window facing and window screens. That's all I saw in the dark.
Smeagol was glad to see me home.
Here's a grace of God thing though... I didn't find out till I got home and Debbie told me that the high school where I went for that new training this morning was the one that was hit and had parts of the building cave in. Don't know if ya'll heard about it.
But, anyway, I went there for training on some CADD software that I don't have. The computers in their CADD lab were not able to run the software so all us teachers who traveled over there for the training packed up and headed across town to my lab to do the training. About an hour after we left that building was when walls started falling in.
God is good.
No one was seriously injured there. Bruises and stuff was all according to what we've heard.

Just out of curiosity, how old are your comics?
To: Ramius
I'm kindof a weather junkie, and I love it when storms are brewing around me... but tornados are a whole 'nuther thing. Little too extreme for me...You need to come on down! I'll take you storm chasing! :-)
You will like it! I promise!!! And I won't get you killed or injured. :-)
