In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. Practice makes perfect.....post on....
amatory \ah*meh*tow*ree\, adjective:
amatorious; adjective
amatoriously; adverb
amatoriousness; noun
1. Pertaining to, producing, or expressing, sexual love; as, amatory potions. [Obs.]
2. Expressive of or exciting sexual love or romance
The Autumnal Recrudescence of the Amatory Urge
When the birds are cacaphonic in the trees and on the verge
Of the fields in mid-October when the cold is like a scourge.
It is not delight in winter that makes feathered voices surge,
But autumnal recrudescence of the amatory urge.
When the frost is on the punkin' and when leaf and branch diverge,
Birds with hormones reawakened sing a paean, not a dirge.
What's the reason for their warbling? Why on earth this late-year splurge?
The autumnal recrudescence of the amatory urge.--Susan Stiles, copyright December 1973

Only days left until Christmas! Tomorrow is my Christmas shopping day. I always do it the Saturday before and this year I will probably set a land speed record getting it all done.

I could ruin my day with an image of an amatorious relationship between these
two. The only thing that could produce an amatory blush on their cheeks would be a power grab!

On the drive home last night, listening to Talking Heads singing "Swamp", and musing of Kerry's slow silent spiral to the depths of a political dead sea, I made a connection between his frustration and the music.
If you've never heard "Swamp", think of the drunken initiation party of Animal house, but held in the 80's. All these guys warbling Hiiiii hihihihi hiiiii!
So, with sincerest apologies to David Byrne:
Swamped!
Now lemme tell you a story
Kerry says he has a plan
Soft money in his pocket
Oval Office on his mind
New suit and new haircut
But the contest's over
All the polls in solid motion
Those tired speeches, gonna swallow you up
Why why why why why?
One poll too many
Too far behind
First primary sends him home
And when they spell his initials
Drives ol' Teddy quite mad
Charisma is special substance
Ain't none in this man
So wake up young voters
He's trailing Sharpton
Watch out, ride Harleys
Don't forget to say "f**ked up"
Why why why why why?
What's that? Who's losing?
What's our message? Who knows?
First primary sends him home
How many people do you think I am
Time to be someone else
Went and married old millionaire
A checkbook right in my hands
No traction, no appeal
An electoral chart on the wall
Soft numbers, worse 'n Edwards
Watching his plans all implode
And when you need to look homey
Call the wife for the press
She talks, reporters listen
Lights on, nobody home
Click click- see ya later
Vroom vroom- no time to rest
Fav'rit move- Risky Business
All them moves, who should he be next?
Why why why why why?
Only now hard feelings
What's that, new consultants
Dirty tricks lets go
I- don't want to go home
I- want that big white home
Why why why why why?
Why why why why why?
Why why why why why?
Why why why why why?

rational and informed people all recognize that bill clinton's impeachment five years ago today was all about perjury and obstruction of justice. I forgot it was Impeachment day.
Happy Impeachment Day Everybody.
