Our driveway developes this big hump of ice from the snowplows going past. By midwinter it's a foot high and a real pain to get over. It's frozen solid, too, so we can't do anything about it.
People are driving around, here. Glad I don't have to. The boss finally made it in.

Ya gotta shovel that mound of snow after the snowplow goes by or it DOES turn into solid ice! The kids and I went out last winter doing a public service to uncover the street drains so we wouldn't have a glacier at the bottom of the hill from the snow melting and running straight down the street. I thought I was gonna have to borrow one of the dwarves' pickaxes! It was solid ice down near the bottom cause that's what the plow had shoved off the road from several snowfalls. Got it done, though, and this year, I won't have to SEARCH for the drain cause I know where the mark is now!
