No, unfortunately no pics of before it was set!

Was a funny story, my friend and I were cantering down a trail and came to a ditch.... my horse considered jumping it, so I leaned forward... then she changed her mind and hit the brakes. I went right over her head and she came in after me.

when she got up, she took off for home. My friend was helping me with the badly broken arm. She took her shirt off and we wrapped the arm in that, and then she took off to catch my horse. We were too far to walk home... for me anyhow.

Well, she caught my horse and took it to a nearby dairy and just turned her loose in the field with the cows. Then she came back. We used one of my reins to just strap my arm to my body and she led me out on her horse.

We ride up to the dairy, me with one arm strapped, dirt and a gash in my forehead that we hadn't even worried about yet, and my friend wearing just a bra. I think the dairy man gave her a shirt.

The dairy man helped, called my Mom to come get me, and we made arrangements for my trainer to come and get my horse ASAP.... she was chasing all the milk cows which was not good at all.

There was pain, but of course we don't remember pain very well. I had arrived at a comfort zone with it strapped immobile to my body, and I remember the admitting nurse at the ER telling me she wanted to look at it and confirm it was broken. I said "It's broken. It bends about 30 degrees here, where it isn't supposed to bend". My mom had taken my word for it. The nurse said.... "well, I just have to look." I had to untie it from my body, take the wrap off it, take my coat off, all of which caused excruiating pain, at which point she said.... "ooh yeah that is broken!" So she walks off, and unsupported it hurt like hell. She came back with a splint designed for a 'straight' arm, that was not gonna work. I remember being really mad that she had messed up what had been the most comfortable way to support it just so she would believe me, so I could wait a couple more hours in ER for the person actually tasked with fixing it. 2J prolly thinks it is unfair for me to blame the nurse for the pain, and as a grownup I am sure she is right. But not at 14.

I tell a story with high drama, comedy and a nekkid chick, and it kills the thread.

Tough crowd!

(lol...sorry I did not respond sooner...I had to run some errands and get a haircut.)

But...WOW! What an event! And, I complete understand what you're saying about the nurse...that must have been awful!

Unfortunately, my stories for my twice broken arm aren't as eventful.

Age 5) Tripped over a garden hose.

Age 10) Brother pushed me off the porch.
