At entmoot I was telling Ramius about the Marfa lights. I think he doubts! rubbish. Why then do I think this has something to do with a snipe hunt? :-)

No snipe hunt. I figured when Bear and Rose saw my post about the lights they'd be on here pinging you to all kinds of Marfa light information. LOL
The 3 of us (and Myranda) have been talking about going out there for so long that I think maybe that's why that was the topic that came to mind when you and I were discussing interesting things in Texas.

They're legendary all over TX. I've seen video, but only been through vey briefly in the daylight.
I'm curious enough to go. Who knows, maybe the Martians will pick me. Just call me Roy Neary.

Nope, Master Sea-man, true story.
The Marfa Lights have been known for over 100 years; in fact, there are also the Marfa Sounds, tuning fork-like noises that seem to accompany the lights. A whole cottage industry has grown up around these lights ... there's a festival every Labor Day weekend.
