The Hobbit Hole V - Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...
ecurbh

Posted on 12/11/2003 2:07:57 PM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

His father wasn't so much of a rat in the book. He STILL preferred Boromir to Faramir (duh!), but was more the ruin of a great man, driven to madness and despair. He still wasn't exactly a loveable guy, but he made more sense.

And Faramir in the book.... *swoon*

If you haven't read it, you gotta. Can't remember if you had or not.

He was way to under the spell to do anything to help Rohan...Grima and Saruman was just too much.

They'd BETTER put the balcony scene into the EE!

*Swoon*

He's more swoonable than Aragorn, and that's saying something.

And the wedding.... was just rereading those bits tonight. Faramir has such a way with words.

Aragorn was more swoonable in the books...but still not as much as Faramir.

Yeah, the guy went through a lot of nasty throughout. He deserves to get the good stuff.

True on both points. Aragorn is just too high and distant. Faramir is cuddly. ;-)

*sigh*

No wonder Eowyn gave up any wish for being queen! Who wouldn't, after meeting Faramir?

Of *course* I will be a [near]perfect gentleman!!! :-)

That's the advantage of a WSU edumacation... we graduate with good experience and real-world application of wisdom so that even when totally in our cups, we can still handle social situations with alcohol and firearms and/or women and still not set either of them off in unintended ways!! :-)

It's all about self-restraint. or, something like that.

Yea, I should have clarified. Denothor in the movie was a rat.

Girls, girls, GIRLS! You all know that GOLLUM was the HUNK in the movie! LOL

Oh, I'd make her choice in like a second. Besides, she still got to be second-highest lady in the land... and she had valor and stuff behind her so Arwen couldn't snootily cut her out of the sewing circles.

Actually I'm thinking Faramir and Eowyn probably knocked off all the Orcs left in Ithilien for their honeymoon.

I think Shakespeare took pointers from him. That man is a smooth talker! And a warrior, and intelligent, and loyal, and handsome....

Being a queen would be icky, anyway. Too formal and all that. And Aragorn's awfully uptight sometimes.

And you're right...he doesn't say things like Faramir does...

Hey, somebody else knows how to do enchiladas right!

Boromir?

Puh-leese. First sign of Denethor's senility is that he preferred Boromir over the infinitely superior, more Numenorean Faramir.
