The Hobbit Hole V - Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...
ecurbh

Posted on 12/11/2003 2:07:57 PM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

No, I'm down on the coast north of Corpus Christi. My daughter and niece live in Austin. It's A Matter Of Thyme sounds familiar. The mesquite beans can be got on the ground under any mesquite tree. ;) I would send a bean or two for each pot that your friends are trying to grow. Chop it and mulch it in.

You should engineer the rooms a little bigger. Dorm rooms are always too small.

Ag with a horticulture emphasis! Yeah, they were just bangin' down the door looking for a horticulture major.

Sigh.

Now he's at OSU getting his environmental science masters. Hopefully someone will hire him when he's done! LOL

CLOSET SPACE, Engineer...I needed CLOSET space when I was there...

but then, I *did* spend my first year at Burleson Hall...it was a cooperative dorm...

I wont even do that to my own daughter now...my parents thought it would make a good worker bee out of me.

Im not doing to my daughter what my parents did to me. God bless them both, but they were determined to keep me on their tax rolls and insurance. Was NEVER sick the entire time I was there. The students that I saw were the happiest and most successful were the ones at least partially paying their way through. I never got to invest the way I wanted to, and let slip a lot of opportunity. Plus, was told they would only pay for four years. Didnt want to take me off insurance or tax, but didnt want to let me go and earn my own money so I could determine the way I wanted my life.

Nope...NOT doing that to my daughter. It will seem harsh to her, but I am going to insist that she at least work while in school. She'll feel like she'll have invested.

*SNORT* Try ANTHROPOLOGY!!!

Yes, I was part of the Humanities Department that now has two labs in the Evans building. It wasnt there when I first started. Teh entire department was in one half of th wings of the first floor of Flowers Hall. Do they still have bomb threats going off in that building?????

Yeah, the last two years I've worked and paid my own tuition. It is meaningful.

I gotta go...unfortunately being in the new house means new services and at this time, we are using the only phone line set up for us...which means I cannot spend as much time as I like.

Talk to y'all soon! I'll get started on finding those plants!!

Well, she's done now, but good Lord!

I ate two eggs for breakfast that were laid day before yesterday and a harvest blend bagel. Mmmmm!

I still have a dozen eggs left!
