The Hobbit Hole V - Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

So brownies, choco chip cookies, and oatmeal raisin cookies all on pretty platters. Gifts around here are mostly food-related. I'm giving five-pound bags of jumbo cashews. They're from a local importer/wholesaler, and are so good I could just swoon. Of course, I have a bag for myself, too.
There will be more serious eating going on today than on Thanksgiving, even.

No recounts here!
However, I did make a mistake on the Week 1 post. If anyone can spot it, I'll award a gold star.

Wow, Christmas and you're posting.
All done with presents. I got a number of gifts for my car, like car mats. Also four books I had specifically asked for: Dune, The Mote in God's Eye, The Princess Bride, and Doomsday Book. They're all books that I love and need my own copy of.
Also got two shirts, some socks (yay!), a dragon calendar, and my USB device. Pretty cool, all around.
How's your Christmas coming?

The Mote is a really good read. Enjoy.

Good morning!
Rose is sleeping in, as she was up late last night playing "Neverwinter Nights" on her computer. I went to bed after watching one of the showings of "A Christmas Story" on TNT.
After she wakes up I'm going to present her with some "filler" gifts I got for her to open on Christmas Day; her "real" present is still in shipment, probably won't get here until tomorrow or Saturday. I made a stop at the bookstore and got her the most recent Alan Dean Foster "Flinx" novel, and the new Heinlein novel.

Aww, come on... I'll give you a hint, the mistake is not in any of the numbers or calculations... as far as I know, those are all correct.

How lovely! Are the "Flinx" books any good? I've seen them, but not read them.
My little brothers got a PS2. Mom never let me have anything that cool... they're playing Lord of the Rings on it now.
Now it's that long Christmas afternoon time, between presents and dinner, when everyone has new toys, and everyone starts getting on everyone elses' nerves... we're actually not that bad, though...

Nope... another hint: if you compare last week's post with this week's post, the mistake should be easily spotted.

Are the "Flinx" books any good?I couldn't say, I haven't read them myself. Rose is a big fan of A.D.F. though, and she likes that series a lot.

Back when I lived with my parents, this would be the time when they'd be getting ready to go to my Grandmother's house and I'd be delaying as long as I could so I could play with my new toys. Never had much fun at Grandma's house... too many people (usually 30-50 crammed into a not-very-large house) and no toys to play with!
