I'm glad that is over and done with, you telling your dad.
I didn't know if Steve was really series. I mean, we'd been together 4 years! When he asked me, there was no dilly-dallying around with it. I made him ask my dad! Like the next day. I figured if he had the gumption to ask my dad, he meant it.
I was secretly a bit surprised that he actually asked him!
Six months later, we were married. No fiddle-fartin' around with that either...goodness, we knew each other well enough! LOL
Looking back, I wished we'd just got the family together one weekend and got hitched. Had a big blow-out later.
But the gift part was really nice!

Something about big men and a feeling of security. There is that... and also, I am tall for a woman. I have been referred to as an Amazon woman many times.... sometimes fondly and sometimes with disgust. I really like NOT feeling like that! I typically don't look like I have too much weight on... but, nobody usually believes me when they find out how much I *really* weigh cause it's all height. I told Corin what I weigh at entmoot. He was pretty surprised. LOL

I'm already planning to have a small wedding. Just family and a few dozen close personal (Hobbit) friends.
The store had the ice cream I really like! Moose Tracks, tastes like the real stuff with only a few carbs. And I've been good today so I can have quite a bit now!

Steve had just what everyone thought he had (including my rational brain). Pre-cancerous lesion is what they called it and they zapped it with liquid nitrogen. He acted like it was no big deal, he and the boys went to a hockey game. (He gets free tickets from his work). YEA!!! Answered prayer. Glad you are celebrating!

Deals...the one dollar store, had those Beach Cliff kipper snacks on sale for 50 cents a tin!
I bought ten of them! Plus a bit of hard candy, some horehound candy (soothing to the throat) and some Moonpies for my care package that's going out.
I love $1 stores.

But, it was 4 years after that when we really got married. In that time I think he asked me at least 3 other times..... and I asked him once too! LOL

Mmmmm! That does sound delicious!
I really really like coffee ice creams with chocolate. When I was expecting Joshua, we lived less than mile from Baskin Robbins. I would drive down and get a double scoop of Jamoca Almond Fudge on a sugar cone and have it nearly eaten before I got home! LOL
