A buddy and me dryed our shirts in a broiler once on a fishing trip, when we got caught in Everglades thunderstorms 30 miles off the beach. When we got the boat back to our hotel, we found my truck somehow leaked, the storms completely saturating our suitcases that were still in it. So we put some of the soaking clothes in the broiler (once we figured out that just baking them made 'em hot, but not dry).

Anyhow, the broiler dried our clothes very quickly. Only thing is, it also put prominent "grill" marks right down the front of our shirts, so not only were we bedraggled by rain, we also looked like we'd escaped from a BBQ.

"Depends on WHERE in Florida!"

Anything north of the Rickenbacker Causeway qualifies as Georgia.

*shiver*

It's pretty chilly today actually.

I think it's supposed to go down into the 40s tonight! YUCK!

It's that cold here today! My fingers aren't quite numb though....

I went up to the brand-new Subway, two minutes from the office, and got a sub on one of their new Atkins wraps. It's good! I just got my usual BMT, only with extra meat. Stripped off the excess wrapper and it's a darn good sandwich substitute!

My piano professor in college came over from Holland after the war. He used to practice playing the pipe organ in the cathedrals with gloves with the fingers cut out.

I had vey few acceptable reasons for not practicing...

For some reason, my piano teacher never accepted "I have no talent and keep getting my fingers crossed" as an excuse for my, er, performance...

I had a good reason for not practicing. I hated it! :-)

But, I wasn't in college. I was in elementary school. There were many better things to be doin'!

Ha!

It's a very pleasant 44 degrees outside right now, sparkling clear skies. Nice breeze.

I hung another clothes line (using the trees) so I could get the stuff done quicker...our yard must look very tacky. Thank goodness for the 6ft privacy fence. All we need back there now is an outhouse (and I'd love to build one for a garden shed!)

We look very respectable from the front yard. Heh heh!

I think my piano teach prolly hated me. I never made any secret of *not* wanting to be there. She kept telling me if I didn't want to do it I should quit. But, my mom wouldn't let me. She had to put up with me for 5 years! And I never did much of anything.

How do you get clothes to not be stiff when you dry them on a line? Although I think they smell much better dried that way.

Figured out how to spell "dried" since the last post.

Yeah, my mom was the same way... thought we should get music lessons. After a while I got just too busy, but I had seven years, at least, of lessons.

My talents lie in other directions.

A lot of it depends on the wind...the tee-shirts are slightly stiff, but not really if they are beat up by the wind. They also have less wrinkles, the harder they're blown by the wind.

The jeans are just stiff.

I've never been able to get the towels to not be stiff and so we always dry them in the dryer...for some reason, it doesn't cut holes in them or if it does, it's not noticeable.

The stiffness doesn't bother me. I'm used to it now and don't even notice it with my clothes. And they do smell great after being line dried! Especially the bed linens!

I made a wonderful soup last night. Made me very happy. I've been doin the Atkins thing for a while now. And that soup was so good. It had in it onion, garlic, jalapeno, roasted red peppers, black olives, hamburger, little pepperonis, cabbage, baby spinach, celery, italian seasonings and chicken stock. and a little parmesan grated on top. Very satisying. I brought it today for lunch. Just a cup of it. Made enough to last for days.

Jen I tried one of those the other day, the adkins wrap at Subway. It was very good. I had the chicken ranch.

I haven't tried one of their official wraps, just got a BMT in the wrap, with double meat and mustard (if you do go to Subway, their mayonnaise is low-fat, which means it has tons of carbs). It was really very good and I trimmed off about a fifth of the wrap that was just excess. And it cost me less than 4 dollars, pretty good for a special treat!

The soup sounds like a lot of effort! Glad you're happy with it...

Don't know if anyone has answered your question about the Outlook Toolbar. That happened to me this morning. I just went to VIEW, scrolled down to Toolbar and clicked on it, and the toolbar came back up.

Where's the Rickenbacker Causeway?
Tallahassee was most definitely more like Southern Georgia than Florida. Even down around Appalchicola was only beginning to feel like Florida. Panama City qualified, though!
