The Hobbit Hole V - Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

It's 21 here! Predicted high was only 18 or so! *smug grin*
After so many days of subzero, this feels VEY warm. Went out to start my car and didn't bother...it's warm enough that it doesn't matter.
Gettin' the oil changed and the antifreeze checked this afternoon just the same, though.

Morning! Snow and ice, snow and ice. But at least Post took care of the ice (the snow is another matter). What a relief!
Dad is still in ICU, he must be getting better 'cuz he's starting to fight. But it's breaking my mom's heart because when he wakes up he panics from the equipment and the restraints. Mom says he's like a scared, confused child. But the docs say he won't remember these episodes due to the meds. So if y'all still have room on your prayer lists, I'd appreciate it if you offer a small one for my parents.

Prayers, certainly. I've been there...I know how it can be. The meds also make them confused. Or did Mom. It was...really hard.
Off to work I go...see ya there!
To: RosieCotton
Well...I spoke too soon. Much colder here, and I'm wondering if the temp I gave at home was quite right either. Thermometer here says 12. But that's ABOVE zero, which is nice.
Did I kill the thread?

I'm HERE!
Good morning!
The chickens were already out this morning...must have raised an early ruckus and Steve let them out. They were standing in the corner looking confused at the house. Likely they were raising a ruckus because there wasn't any water...their water was frozen. They were likely standing in the corner waiting for their warm water which of course never came till I got up!
Just a longer than normal wait. LOL

Good morning!
I'm not at work yet. Gonna stay home and do some stuff until about ten, I'm just too tired and chicken to brave this weather quite yet.
On the other hand it felt really nice to sleep in until 8:15 this morning!

Poor chickens...though on the other hand, how much of a concept of time do they have, I wonder?
Sigh...I'm outta sugar. Don't like tea without sugar, but that's what I gots.
To: Lil'freeper
prayers for them, and for you guys too.

From out of the shadow a red sword leaped flaming. Glamdring glittered white in answer.
There was a ringing clash and a stab of white fire. The Balrog fell back and its sword flew up in molten fragments. The wizard swayed on the bridge, stepped back a pace, and then again stood still.
'You cannot pass! ' he said.
With a bound the Balrog leaped full upon the bridge. Its whip whirled and hissed.
'He cannot stand alone! ' cried Aragorn suddenly and ran back along the bridge. 'Elendil!' he shouted. 'I am with you, Gandalf!'
`Gondor!' cried Boromir and leaped after him.
We are with you, Lil'Freeper!

Lil - I'll certainly keep the prayers coming your way.
Rosie - Do you have work today?
2J - Warm water? Are you raising primadonna chickens? lol
Alas, we only got about 4 inches of snow last night. Jsut enough to have to shovel, just enough to make the roads hazardous, but NOT enough to cancel classes, which means I'm here at work today.
Bummer.
It'd be a fantastic day to make a snowman in the front yard with Autumn...
*grumbles*
Stupid need for money...

Rosie - Do you have work today? Why wouldn't I?
To: smaagee
I'm on my way to Mo. this morning to take the kiddies home.
If you are not familiar with the HTML for posting pics, someone here will explain it to you or I will when I get back in a few days. We expect lots of pics from you newbie.
Mrs. graybeard and Mrs. smaagee are "doing" lunch today. Wish I were going too, I don't look forward to driving 325 miles. The Dad.
P.S. It feels like it's about a hundred below zero here.
To: 2Jedismom
Mmmm...coffee. I didn't make any this morning. But then, I drank almost a whole little pot of decaf last night, so I haven't exactly been deprived.
To: RosieCotton
In the previous post, you said you were off to work, then said "I spoke too soon".
I took that to mean that you didn't have to go in, and you just found out.
Or, maybe I'm just confused...lol

Spoke too soon about it being warm - not about work.
More's the pity!
I like my job, but...
To: ItsOurTimeNow
LOL Well, no...it's just that the warm water hopefully stays unfrozen long enough for it to warm up in the coop!
That doesn't explain the warm oatmeal I cook them now and then...

I am nursing my can of Diet Dr Pepper. It's the last one... until I get out of the house and stop at the store on the way to work. Not enough caffeine in this, I fear.
Hmm... this work is taking me less time than I thought. I may have to go in earlier than I planned.
