The Hobbit Hole V - Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...
ecurbh

Posted on 12/11/2003 2:07:57 PM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

This latest one spoofs the sender, subject line and the attached file name changes.... it is a time to be careful!

Is everyone's virus checker updated?

A surley (read 14-year-old) son with a sprained wrist

Well, you know what they say. Surley to bed and surley to rise...

Ah, so that explains why I fell asleep halfway through last time I tried to watch it. But it is on our Netflix queue due to, ahem, ~popular demand~. ;~D

Here I am at my nice quiet office, sipping a nice cold Diet Dr Pepper, about to risk life and limb in my little car... there are days when you just want to go to work. This week is full of them.

Yep. That's it. I'm thinking of writing McAfee and saying "What's the DEAL here?" I can't figure out why sometimes my computer boots up and the program starts automatically, and sometimes it doesn't. And get this, it must have been on earlier, because it asked if my WeatherBug could log on to the internet! Then when I click on it to check it's status, it says it's not running!

Argh!

Gotta go...gotta take Josh to preschool. BBl

How is Nana?

Last week was pretty rough. Her blood was too thin and caused a problem with her other leg. Turned all purple. Doctor had us (well okay wife and her sister) watching it pretty closely. Thought she might have to go to the ER. She also had a urinary tract infection and is on an antibiotic. She goes back to the pulmonary physician tomorrow and goes to have a valve put in on Thursday. Apparently the valve will drain fluid from her lungs (I think that's what it does).

Anyway all that has to line up and work out right for her to have the surgery on Tuesday.

She's in somewhat better spirits. It's probably not very "saintly" of me, but I've tuned out the whining. And I just don't ask her how she's doing anymore.

You think wrong... He isn't.

He was married to Jennifer Anniston... and was engaged to Gwenneth Paltrow..

Dated Juliette Lewis, Geena Davis..... at least, those are the ones listed at IMDB.

But it looks like their commanders have decided that unsecure CBs and GMRSs still give them a better chance of survival than no radios at all.

I doubt this has made it far up the food chain... the Force Protection Officer, the SigO and the the SigInt guys should be screamin' bloody murder...

we were the OpFor against a MEU... we waxed 'em cuz they were usin' unauthorized handhelds... they thought they were using secure system of passwords and codes, but any moron with a few days, knowledge of the area, and a scanner could've had their playbook down pat... like we did...

a company, against a MEU... we inflicted over 600 casualties... to include shootin' down four helicopters... it was an embarassment that never made any headlines... the after-action report got buried... but the Div CG did find the funds to buy secure handhelds...

*sigh*... how much $ do I need tuh send yuh?...

btw... we need tuh roast AudioVox's chestnuts over an open fire...
