Voyager was a bit less soap opera-ish than DS9, but that's not saying much...

Ryker is an arrogant...umm...fella...he deserved it!I bought a TNG computer game just so I could get him shot up. Too bad the game wouldn't let me make Worf pull the trigger.

Oh, I caught part of that once and never thought anything other than "ew" and "Oh good, at least everyone else is safe from those two".
TNG had a really lousy pilot episode, but after season two it improves considerably.
