Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Entmoot 2004: There and Back Again, a Hobbits Tale
Lets see
it must be Sunday Jan. 11, 2004 I was upstairs at around 8:30. Corin and Junior had already left for the Mouse Kingdom so I didnt get to say Good-bye. *Sniff* SuziQ was making pancakes and gnad was frying the bacon. Have some Irish Cream in your coffee, he says. Not for the first coffee of the morning. I waited until after pancakes, bacon, and two cups of coffee before adding the good stuff. The church-going folk have gone to services so they put on the South Park DVD.
The sun is out all the way today and its warming up enough for short sleeves. The wind has picked up and the surf is heavy. One reminder: dont try to play the whistle in that kind of wind. I had gone out there to practice a bit and ended up at the bottom of the steps that went down from the back deck into the yard. Gnad called me up to the patio (they could hear me from the other side of the house. I did In Dreams and that nice part at the end of FOTR for them and tried Red-Haired Boy which I guess was pretty good considering that I didnt have my music there and dont have it all committed to memory yet.
Gnad, theboy and thegirl tried out the pool briefly but said it was too cold and are out again.
Ruthy and trini are leaving now, *Sniff*. Someone has the CD player going and I hear billiard balls clacking. Bilbo seems to be doing better on the deck with his bagpipes in the wind than I did with my whistle. So were all just hanging out on a Sunday afternoon waiting for lunch (were HOBBITS! Okay?) SuziQ is making spaghetti. Theyve got frozen wings. Im planning on making Balrog wings this evening
or tomorrow
whatever. J
Ecurbh brought his un-PC collection of Inki cartoons and other Bugs Bunny stuff, so we watched that. Did I mention that I drank the last cold Guinness in the fridge? Gnad was giving me a hard time about it. J The wind was playing a mean note on the bottle. More sitting around and talking
and eating. We heard about Wneighbors bikes and some of the road trips with her biker buddies, breakdowns, sleeping on the side of the road, outrunning Smokie, driving with her leg in a cast. I think Im the dullest hobbit there.
Spaghettis ready! SuziQ made a tomato sauce and we spooned browned ground beef on top of the pasta and covered it with the sauce. There also was salad and garlic bread. Sometime after lunch we had Holy Grail on. After that the Fellowship sort of broke up again. Sam and Jeanne left *Sniff*, SuziQs party went shopping with Jen and Rosies party. To Besty Buy, probably the grocery store, and to Barnes and Noble. Ramius and Wneighbor went on a food/likker quest. The rest of us went walking on the beach. I couldnt stay out there too long cause the wind was drying out my contacts. One thing, though. Those who wore shorts or went barefoot were getting critter-bit. I did some FReeping along with ecurbh and Hair. At one point Bear asked if we had had any fights. Ecurbh posted that Jens lawyer asked us not to discuss it. Ha ha
.fun joke. He didnt take the bait. Some people are just no fun anymore!
Supper was sandwiches and pizza. SuziQ made a trifle for dessert. On the thread, Ruthy posted that she got home okay and was trying to arrange baby-sitting so she could come back on Wednesday. Sam posted that they made it home safely. After dinner it was drinkin time. I believe that Hair, ecurbh, Ramius, and gnad all had Wild Turkey with
no wait a minute. Hair and ecurbh (or at least Hair) had scotch whiskey in Coke, ecurbh had something mixed with Coke, and gnad and Ramius had Turkey on the rocks. I had Irish Cream.
Gnad, Wneighbor, and Ramius wanted to watch 13th Warrior but ecurbh beat him to the DVD player and we had
..cookies. Rosie and her siblings were playing instruments (not pool) in the game room. Gnad and thegirl seem to like the Celtic stuff. Pretty soon the Anime group go downstairs to watch
some Anime. Hair and ecurbh retire around 10:00 and gnad put 13th Warrior on. Ramius was laughing at the part where the guys were crossing a stormy sea in an open boat.
After the movie I was ready for bed, but since Anime was still playing downstairs, I watched the end of that
.weird. I thought the little bee thing carrying the fat mouse around was kind of funny, though.

I didn't feel quite right posting that South Park was playing during church. :)

Moss isn't really a monster. But I bet monsters like mossy places.

Heeehee... oh, thank you *so* much for reminding me about South Park.
If you care, the anime we had on that night was a movie, "Spirited Away" (Someone can probably tell you the real title, but that's how it's translated here). We watched that because the Escaflowne disk froze in the middle of the fourth episode. I cleaned it Monday morning with my glasses cloth and it worked fine.

Oh, and I found you can get a smoked effect if you take a packet of aluminum foil and punch holes in the top, filled with wood chips and then sat directly on top of the burner.
The ham will be cooked using indirect heat on the Road Grill...

That sounds better than using Liquid Smoke. Too much LS can ruin your whole meal.

Heh...I wasn't planning on renting it or anything, but someone else might. Those sisters were a bit creepy-looking to me. I thought some kind of Babba Yagga thing was coming down.

I know, it's horrible.
I have no idea what or how that happens in my head, but it IS odd to read stuff and have to reread it because it's funny or just plain weird the way I initially read it.

Yeah, it was a bit odd. The dragon was kinda cool. I don't really care for Chinese dragons, but he was mildly impressive. Also, dragons with human forms are cooler than dragons with only one form.
Japanese kids must be seriously messed up.

Okay, the dragon was cool but I still think that a dragon should have wings.

I agree. And they shouldn't resemble snakes, at all.
I desire dragons....

That is true.
Wonder what that portends for me since I often seek out mossy places for the quiet and solitude.
