The real problem with having it in the U.P. is getting there. Flying in is really expensive; I have found the most cost-effective way of getting there is flying in to Chicago or Minneapolis, renting a car, and then driving about 7-8 hours to get there.

Yeah...that thought occurred to me. I figured it would be quite a bit worse than the airport situation here. If it was better I'd be tryin' to talk everyone into coming here next time around!

Though it's fun checking out new places, too!

We could all go to Colorado....

Yawn. I don't want to go to bed but I suppose I must. I have to get up early enough to scrape the ice off the car, gas up, and still be at work by 8:30. It's going to be a long week.

We'll go to West (West, Texas, that is), and eat kolaches!

Maybe we'll even meet this lady:

Time to hit the hay! Supposedly I don't have to work tomorrow, but I may go in for awhile anyway, depending on how things are. The semester starts Tuesday, so there will almost certainly be some last minute preparation. They may or may not need me.

Also may have the excuse that I'm sick. I'm fixin' to come down with a cold. Taking zinc and hoping for the best.

I'm so happy it held off until I got back!

One can actually fly into Marquette or Houghton, but it can get expensive.

Finding lodging for everyone could be a problem, too! Would have to make reservations well in advance.

Trout are the only real fish. Everything else is a wannabe.

Our closest airport would be Burlington...but it's pricey (sometimes twice what it costs to travel to/from Manchester, NH), still two hours away (not seven or eight, though!) and is one of those "can't get there from here" places - we have no east/west interstates in this part of the state - only north/south. Makes things interesting sometimes! Lots of driving on twisty state routes.

Real fish live in salt water.

All else is pond fish.

Heh, the U.P. doesn't have any interstates at all... U.S. 2 runs east-west, U.S. 41 runs north-south.

Chicago and Minneapolis are just the least expensive options. One could also fly into Green Bay or Duluth, which are closer, but they would cost more.

Good night again!

Hey, those are sea trout, in the croaker family, not real trout.

Still, better than real trout, most probably.
