The Hobbit Hole V - Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...
ecurbh

Posted on 12/11/2003 2:07:57 PM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

It's beginning to seem like a very nice dream. Glad we have so many pictures!!

Was it a dream? Or was it a vision?

Still have the theme song stuck in my head...

Hehehe - very appropriate! Hitomi went home too.... temporarily at least

I want the whole soundtrack to Escaflowne but it's about $45 on Amazon! That's ridiculous.

Oh, no doubt. I think that's why the Brits conquered the world, after all, their own food was too boring.

Looks fine to me. Let's go.

Hard to imagine that freshwater could look like this.

Oh, Presque Isle... I've been there.

I need to scan some of the pics I've made over the years so I can post them.

Here another autumn picture (not taken by me...) Looks like Lothlorien, doesn't it?

However...just how many mosquitos and black flies are hiding in that picture?

Though I admit, the UP is a very pretty place.

As is Vermont!

I like Cornish pasties, though... not strictly British I suppose, but brought to the U.S. by miners from Cornwall. Grew up eating them... Rose can't stand them, lol.

Heh, by the time the leaves start to turn the mosquitoes are usually dying off. Weather gets too cold for 'em!

Hee, I admire many of the accomplishments of my British ancestors, but cooking just isn't part of it. Still, can't go too wrong with meat and potatoes... bangers and mash, that sort of thing.

Yeah, sage in them, tastes very nice. Just some claret to go with.

I'm thinking braving the bugs might be an Entmoot tradition.

Along with watching much anime... it's so much more fun with a crowd... I've been wishing you were here as I'm watching this stuff...

Yeah, I suppose you're right.

Any earlier than that, though...

That's why fall is such perfect hiking weather! I love fall.

The real problem with having it in the U.P. is getting there. Flying in is really expensive; I have found the most cost-effective way of getting there is flying in to Chicago or Minneapolis, renting a car, and then driving about 7-8 hours to get there.

I have enough trouble avoiding "Pixburgh" words and slurs, I don't need another region to worry about!

We've got yinz, slippy, worsh, iggle, etcetera - to say nothing of the atrocious grammar, punctuation errors, and word confusion (my favorite: using "let" when you mean "lay").
