So, 60 billion dead and the show focused on a kid with a robot dog!
From that point on Bagglegack Starlacktica took on the aura of absurd theatre.

Wing Commander has a much better storyline. The Cats are much more interesting bad guys.

I resemble that remark. Fortunately, I found one to marry before she caught on.

Nah...remember, that thing he was fooling with was "one of the Galactica's Pulse Generators"....he spoofed the missle and the pulse made the Cylons think they went BOOM.
Its watchable....the feeling of getting only bits and peices of a developing tradgedy reminds me STRONGLY of 9/11...trying to put the peices together, inferring whats happeining from what you get...getting the horrible feeling that whats happening is MUCH worse than you can imagine.
As for the Cylons...I never could figure out why you'd have freaking robots piloting a ship, when you could build the ship AS a robot...makes sense, eh?

Sorry, but it was a necessary casting. All hints of the A-Team had to be wiped out. And any male casting would have reminded me of Dirk which would have led to reminders of Mr. T and massive gunfire that never hits anyone (perhaps the A in A-Team stands for Arab?).

Agreed.
However, I think S.W.H.U.A. will end up slapped down hard by Adama. There are times when civilians should just shut the crap up and let the military get the job done.

THIS is the character they botched up:
Guess the hollywood types are too uncomfortable with a "peace" loving politician who is, in reality a traitor.
Hits too close to home for the lefties.

I thought it was a nice touch that the viper pilots were expecting cylon ships with cockpits.

Watched it. Will watch the next part tomorrow night.
I loved the old series, but I was just a kid. I recently saw an episode from the old series and couldn't believe how terrible the acting and dialogue were. That's not how I remembered it.
The new one is ok. Not perfect, but ok. I think the re-casting of Starbuck and Boomer as women has more to do with the "sexed-up" image they're going for than PC. People were coupling up like rutting weasels in the first hour.
Interesting to see how they resolve the PC president and Commander Adama's dispute. That will tell you a lot about how well the show ought to go.
To: Thoro
Yeah, Ardala invited him to her ship and Wilma offered herself to him on the way to her ship. Stupid Buck Rogers, didn't get laid by either one.

Well ... I would rather have the stupid kid and the robot dog over Stands With Head up Ass ... anytime Ohhh, the kid is coming. You DID see him get on Boomer's ship, right? ;/
Overall, enjoyed it when I was pretending it wasn't Galactica (gotta love the glowing spine bit).
Definitely a post-9-11 vibe here, which wasn't all bad, though it'll date itself in a few decades (I hope). I did think the firesuits worn by the Galactica's DC squads were a bit too on the nose, though.

Ahhh an another reason why I grew up loving sci-fi. Look at all those buttons :)
A shame Athena didn't translate to the new version.
