I read your report. Way to go. I just don't have the patience to pull something like that off. Thank you for doing so.

You would have had a field day "debating" with the protesters. As you well know, though, it's nearly impossible to conduct rational discourse with most of the leftists, because they refuse to stick to the facts. One guy who kept trying to pick a fight with me would say, "You said ...(blahblahblah) ..." and I'd have to stop him with "Wait a minute, I never said that or anything like it. How can you quote me as saying something I never said, in order to make your argument. You're just setting up straw men." Then he'd change the subject. I finally gave up with him, which he probably regarded a victory (he was one of the spitters, too).

That spitting thing really bothered me when I read your initial report.

They were getting so overwrought and caught up in their hatred that they spoke too quickly, too loudly, and didn't control their saliva spewage (kind of like rabid dogs). Take a breath, swallow, already!
Another odd exchange occurred between the Hair Hat Guy and one of the college boys. Mr. Toupee was ripping on them simply because they were in college, accusing them of living on daddy's wealth and all kinds of stupid stuff. The kids didn't know how to respond to such nonsense. Then he proclaimed, "I didn't go to college and I make $100,000 a year!" So I answered, "So you're one of those rich people who appreciate the Bush tax cuts?" That made him mad - not mad enough to make his toupee spin, but it flustered a little more spittle from him.
To: mountaineer
I'm glad the college kids were there,, it gives me hope for the future. And there's safety in numbers, I'm sure it was easier for you to deal with the hate mongers with the back up of a bunch of young and agile "right" thinkers.

Isn't it always the U.S. (in the person of President Bush and Republicans) who get blamed for the death of the Kyoto Treaty?
Eventually somebody is going to have to stand up and formally declare the Kyoto Protocol to be dead. Now might be the time, since it's best to clean these global policy carcasses off the scene before rigor mortis sets in. Yesterday, for the umpteenth time in two months, a Russian official announced his government isn't prepared to ratify the 10-year-old United Nations plan to control the world's weather by controlling greenhouse gas emissions.
Speaking in Moscow just as another UN climate change extravaganza was starting up in Milan, Andrei Illarionov, President Vladimir Putin's economic advisor, said Kyoto is inconsistent with Russia's growth objectives. "Adhering to the provisions of the Kyoto Treaty and achieving economic growth are incompatible," he said. full story
To: mountaineer
Thank Goodness people are beginning to see the light over Kyoto. It held the potential to drive the U.S. economy into a deep dark depression.

Great job! I saw one of the spitters on the news last night being dragged away with the cuffs on, he was yelling the entire time. It made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.:)

I think we need to start a foundation for angry leftists with bad toupees, HLL reported a very scary rug at her most recent Presidential event.

Thank you for the invitation! It has been an enjoyable visit and I would love to drop in again.

As the protest wound down (around the time the lefties were running after luncheon attendees and harassing them), the collegiate Republicans and I were chatting and laughing with a police lieutenant. I think it was evident to all which groups were full of hate and violence!

I hope to be able to follow up and really get their heads in a twist. Maybe I can get them 'spitting mad' at me. LOL

I had been waiting for your report. Thank you for an excellent first hand account. This is not good weather for standing outside. I recommend late May. :)
The Michigan event had one protester and I couldn't read the sign. The abortion bus was also there. I hate that thing.

Only one protester in Detroit? That's amazing, considering there are pockets of left-wing 20-something anti-capitalists/anarchists/extremists in every major city. Consider yourself (and the local Republicans) blessed to have avoided the nonsense I observed in Pgh. yesterday. It was somewhat depressing to see such ignorance on public display.

Isn't this just about as pathetic as it gets ...
Dec. 3 One of the Bush twins got an unwelcome musical dedication. Barbara, the Yalie, was at a club called Rudys in New Haven recently where the all-gay punk group Pansy Division was playing. During the concert, the band dedicated its virulent anti-Bush song, Political A, to Barbara Bush.
I DIDNT SEE her reaction, singer and guitarist Jon Ginoli tells The Scoop. Im not even sure that she was in the room at the time she might have been in the back room playing pool or something. But, he adds, the crowd loved it.
A spokesman for the Bush family had no comment. We dont discuss anything the girls do, he told The Scoop.
This is what passes for reasoned discourse from the left, yet they're just so thrilled because they think they've gotten away with something so terribly clever. It's like the girls at the Pittsburgh protest doing their lame anti-Bush cheers.
