With Oldman as Sirius Black, this promises to be very cool. I like the trailer - catches the mood of the book very well.

The trailer did look good, but I wish it 1.) had more shots of Lupin (Thewlis), and 2.) had some actual dialogue instead of the Hogwart's choir (huh?) singing the whole time.

Please put me on the Potter ping list, too!!! I am an addict! (And oh so embaressing to admit to other adults that haven't read these books!)

Are you goys joking about the Botts Beans? (I am living in Sweden, and we don't have much Potter merchandise, so you might be telling the truth--but I hate to ask since sardine and vomit flavors were mentioned!!)

After and incident that sees his anger get the best of him, Harry runs away from the school. Unfortunately, the magical wunderkind soon learns that Sirius Black (Gary Oldman) has escaped...

One can't help but wonder whether the reviewer has read the book?!

Harry didn't "run away from the school". He ran away from the Dursleys after "blowing up" Mr. D's aunt. And he knew about Sirius Black's escape BEFORE he ran away.

After and incident that sees his anger...

As a professional editor, it makes me mad that MSNBC would post this mistake. They meant "an." Spell-check is not always 100 percent effective.

Rowling promotes discrimination against fat people.

Examples include:

Mr. Dursley Fat idiot
Dudley Dursley Fat idiot
Neville Fat idiot
Crabbe Fat idiot
Goyle Fat idiot
"The Fat Lady" Picture of an idiot.

Did I miss someone?

In fact, the only overweight character not labelled an idiot is Mrs. Weasly.

Anyway, I heartily approve of the use of fat folk as a generic stereotype worthy of global discrimination.
If we can all agree to hate fat people then think of how much better the world would be.

Oh, the movie looks great, I consider POA to be one of the better books!

Actually, he doesn't run away from the school, he runs away from his aunt and uncle's house after blowing up his aunt Marge. (I'm reading Azkaban right now.. passes time on the train!) :-)

Gary Oldman as Sirius Black is going to be fabulous. Nobody does evil like him!

I was pretty surprised, pleasantly, to hear that Oldman is playing Sirius Black. Perfect casting. I enjoyed the first movie, enjoyed the second one less, but then again, I think the 2nd book is the weakest of the series to date. I'm looking forward to this movie and the next one. I hope they use more of the actual storyline and less fluff.

HP I & II were worth renting. I expect to do the same with III.

But Lord of the Rings easily surpasses Potter in theme and overall quality.
