One way you may be able to find out, go to the state/loc gov homepages for the towns that post the alers.

I would assume other locales have to post their alerts too.

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "BOISE, Idaho — The University of Idaho graduate student held for nearly a year on visa fraud charges pleaded innocent on Monday to the additional charge of supporting terrorism.

Sami Omar Al-Hussayen appeared only briefly before U.S. Magistrate Mikel Williams. Williams postponed Al-Hussayen's trial date from Jan. 20 to Feb. 17 and said both sides could put motions before U.S. Judge Edward Lodge — who will preside over the trial — if they wanted the date postponed longer."

I thought that even though the alert level is being lowered there were eight unnamed cities (in addition to DC, LA and NYC)that were under scrutiny. I haven't been able to find any list or partial list of those cities.

Another way is to assume that the federal authorities are operating under the RED THREAT LEVEL, while publicly keeping ORANGE or YELLOW alert staus in the public eye.

I would be very dismayed if the federal government agencies were operating at anything but CODE RED.
