Reflecting Absence,’ pictured in an artist’s rendering, features two reflecting pools of water on the footprints of the World Trade Center’s Twin Towers.
Reflecting Absence’ to honor Sept. 11 victims Victims’ families unhappy with winner for World Trade Center site

I am curious to opinions on this?

I would say, just my opinion,I'm not a Nyer etc. But my emotionality would welcome this thought for 'reflection'. I would not want a gaudy building for memorial. If I get to NY I would want to sit quietly within my thoughts and prayers for all those we lost. I think the underground waterfall is serenity , the reflection is beautiful.

Yes, it is thoughtful and reflective, but also people need to see that Globe of Peace that the jumper landed on when she was forced out of the building by the heat and smoke. I think that it would really have an impact to see that globe and then to see the memorial.

The reflection pools to me remind me of two gaping scares.

I don't think there is a right answer for that site.

There aren't always right answers.
