Oh my gosh! January 6! I didn't think about that!

January 6 is celebrated in Egypt by the Coptic Christians as Christmas. I'm pretty sure it isn't just the Copts, but I believe much of the Eastern Orthodox Christian Churches celebrate Christmas on that day. That could be signficant.

Yes. 12/25 is more commercial, whereas, Jan. 6 is more holy.
