Behind The News January 04, 2004
What the stars have in store for the Middle East…

As millions throughout the world welcomed the New Year, many were wondering what 2004 has in store for the countries of the region, so we at Albawaba took out our crystal ball from the basement, wiped the dust off of it and would like to share with you the main developments we "predict" will take place in the Middle East in the upcoming year.

According to astrological predictions, which we've gathered from various sources, 2004 will be a year of continuous regional tension, ups and downs, several dramatic political changes and even some bright lights shining from within the dark.

In the oil-rich Saudi kingdom, a terrorist attack or even several attacks will take place, most likely in the Riyadh region during the first half of the current year. There is also a chance that hidden elements will surface and try to challenge the royal regime, bringing about some sort of an Islamic uprising in the kingdom.
