I assume it was for both of you? Here goes:
a. If someone is planning a terror op, and Homeland Security gets wind of it - can come through any source: interrogation, line-crossers, someone blogging - they can stop the op from happening. It could mean as little as a few arrests in a remote suburb, or black helos hovering in the right place, scaring off the jihadis. Whatever works, brings us a win. And sometimes, all you have to do to win, is not lose;
b. The War on Terror is a long-distance endurance run, and we're up against a pack of runners. Al-Qaeda, Abu Sayef, the PFLP, and a host of others. One by one, we overtake and outpace them. we can steal the oxygen from their lungs, by cutting off finances and weapons. We can weaken their muscles, by taking out the operatives. Or, we can psych them out of the race, like we did with Libya. And sometimes, it comes down to high-sticking the other guy, like the Taliban and Saddam.
c. Participating on Free Republic is part of the rights we have as Americans: Freedom of Speech and Association, for example. Helping to keep others educated on a galaxy of issues, some wartime, some domestic and political. And helping to keep alert to trouble and crisis.
