Saddam, Iraq & 9/11: A 3-D Illusion?

1 December 2003-- The above photograph reportedly shows members of the US Third Infantry holding a 3-D image of a celebratory, cigar smoking Saddam next to an image of the WTC towers. The image has been recently circulating among several Internet forums and news sites, including at least one Islamic Jihad site. Analysts at the Northeast Intelligence Network are currently in the process of tracing the origin of this photograph and specifically determining the context in which it was displayed on the jihad forum. This photograph and a related story was recently displayed at INTELmessages.org on 26 November 2003.

Top CIA analysts and other government officials have issued repeated denials of any connection between Iraq and the attacks on the US on 9/11, despite the findings at Salman Pak and the statements made by high-ranking Iraqi defectors. Analysts at the Northeast Intelligence Network are currently in the process of conducting independent research into a possible connection between Iraq and 9/11, using the numerous recent references found on jihad websites and forums as the basis for such research. The findings could produce a more realistic threat assessment for future terror attacks in the US and against our troops, and should not be viewed as a matter of mere historical reference.

Real stories breaking in last day or so which I haven't seen posted here yet: (1) France raises Terror Alert status from yesterday through Christmas; (2) US warns of attack in next 48 hours at hotels/embassies in two African countries; (3) US cautions interests in Saudi Arabia.

Status quo here in NYC. Crowded with lots of shoppers and tourists here for the holidays. I've pretty much given up on the fruit vendor. Doesn't look like he's coming back. It's a big city - maybe he found another corner somewhere.
