A new message was posted in the last few hours by the Jeddah-based al-Qaeda-linked Al-Islah (Reform) society calling on Muslims to flee New York, Washington and Los Angeles in advance of major al Qaeda attacks in those cities. This is revealed by DEBKAfile.

The message accuses the United States of predetermining its end (doom) by its policies. ?The Jews rule the Pentagon by remote control and (are the cause) of Muslims being killed in every corner of the world. The United States should therefore expect more blows.?

The message is signed on behalf of the al Bayan (The Threat) movement by ?your warrior brother, Abul Hassan al Khadrami?.

Our Muslim expert identifies the name of the signatory as belonging to a Yemeni from Hadhrameuth, the Bin Ladens? place of origin where Osama enjoys substantial tribal support.

DEBKAfile?s counter-terror sources stress that warnings appearing on these forums are taken both very seriously and with caution by the intelligence services keeping track of the terrorist network?s electronic traffic.

Last November, Jeddah-based fundamentalist forums addressed a message to an Al Qaeda member, saying whoever understands ? understands; whoever knows, knows, but we are marching towards an operation that will take us to Paradise. Three days later, the Mombasa Paradise hotel was blown up killing 12 Kenyans and 3 Israelis and a failed shoulder-launched Strela anti-air missile missed an Israeli airliner at Mombasa airport.

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - A driver whose windshield was pierced by a bullet is the 20th known target of a highway sniper who has struck cars, school buses and buildings, investigators said.


In the latest shooting, which occurred Thursday, 30-year-sold Michael Thomas of Columbus said he saw a person standing in shadows on a highway overpass just after the shooting. The driver was not hurt.


Investigators have linked 19 previous shootings that took place on or near a section of Interstate 270 on Columbus' south side. Thursday's shooting occurred about eight miles south of I-270."

Last I knew read, he only mentioned the word "Severnaya" in a strange manner. I don't remember if there was anymore specifics or not, but I don't recall it setting off many alarms. I've been doubting him for awhile. For awhile he was in Detroit, but someone else on the CN&V thread was in Detroit as well and made EOM give some proof, like landmarks and that. I don't think he got any of them right.

I just encountered a nasty attempted hack while visiting one of the many Jihadists websites I troll on a daily basis. No damage done. I am behind two firewalls and my workstation is pretty tighly locked down, or so I thought. It may not have been related to my browsing, my IP address is probably well known since I don't go to any great lengths to obscure it - Glutton for punishment I guess. I am going to make some tweaks, start up some utils, retrace my steps and see if I can get myself in trouble again. Just wanted to remind everyone to be careful out there on the net.

BANGKOK, Thailand (AP) - The bird flu virus spreading through Asia appears to have mutated and development of a more effective vaccine is not likely for more than six months, the World Health Organization said Sunday.

Vietnam, which reported its sixth death due to the avian influenza virus on Saturday, and Thailand are the only countries this year where the avian influenza virus has been passed onto humans.

But the virus has hit millions of chickens in four other countries as well, raising concerns it might mutate, link with regular influenza and foster the next human flu pandemic.

How long has EOM being saying last message and how many times?

Quite a few, I believe. I think I've seen him say it before when I started following that thread in early December. This latest one seems odd. He leaves it open so that if anything fails, he can say it wasn't certain. He's also claimed twice that our last night of sleep would truly be our last. After being caught on that EOM pretty much abandoned those posts. Like they say, "soon, soon, sooooon..." Any news on what Russia did with that radioactive material they found? EOM must not have caught that.

Alleged Hizballah 'Fighter' Snuck Into U.S. from Mexico

An indictment returned by a federal grand jury on November 19 alleges that a Hizballah "member, fighter, recruiter and fundraiser" snuck across the Mexican border into the United States in 2001, and then conspired here in the U.S. to "provide material support" to Hizballah, which is designated by the State Department as a foreign terrorist organization. The indictment was unsealed January 15.

Nabih Ayad, lawyer for the accused man, Mahmoud Kourani, told the Detroit Free Press that the charges against his client were wrong. There is "no shred of evidence" Kourani has any ties to Hizballah, said Ayad. "This is another ploy by the government to attack a vulnerable community after 9/11," he told the Free Press after his client pleaded not guilty. "They're going after someone because of his blood relations," he said. "That's unconstitutional. It's guilt by association."

The indictment alleges that Kourani's brother "was the Hizballah Chief of Military Security for Southern Lebanon."

It wouldnt surprise me a bit if they were following this thread.

There are a lot of knowledgeable people in critical areas on this thread. In my opinion, they could use this thread for counter-intelligence reasons as much as they could propaganda and disinformation.

I've been holding back on some information I know that was pertinent to a couple of research questions asked by FReepers for just that reason.

Remember all the speculation AL Qaeda was using Hollywood to gain ideas for attacks a few years back?

The next logical extension would be to find places on the web where knowledgeable people, professionals, and interested persons talk in depth, and then data-mine for operational information you can use.

Cab Driver Says He Wanted Explosives For Jewel Prospecting

NEW YORK -- A cab driver from Afghanistan who was jailed after he asked how to make a bomb said he wanted explosives in order to blast for jewels in his home country -- not to carry out a terrorist attack.

But Sayed Abdul Malike, 43, pleaded guilty Friday to making false statements to FBI agents in Brooklyn federal court, saying he had lied in May when he claimed not to have sought the explosives in the first place.

Malike was a "sadly misunderstood, very depressed individual who was just trying to find a way to better support (his) family," one of his attorneys, Alan Gardner, told the New York Times for Saturday editions.

Yet prosecutors said Malike's story didn't explain other suspicious acts reported to the FBI about him beginning in March, when a Queens store owner said he had asked for information on how to build a bomb. Malike also allegedly wanted to buy bulletproof vests, night vision goggles and Valium.

Later that month, Malike traveled to Miami, where a tourist boat captain reported that he asked about the infrastructure of bridges and how close boats could get to them.

Malike was ordered held without bail in May by Assistant U.S. Attorney Catherine Friesen, who said his actions had "no readily apparent innocent explanation," and indicated instead that he might "be a terrorist or have delusions of undertaking terrorist-type activities."

Malike, who has been in jail since May, is scheduled to be sentenced this spring.
