Al Qaeda again threatens New York, Washington and Los Angeles - Daily Terror Threat

A new message was posted in the last few hours by the Jeddah-based al-Qaeda-linked Al-Islah (Reform) society calling on Muslims to flee New York, Washington and Los Angeles in advance of major al Qaeda attacks in those cities. This is revealed by DEBKAfile.

The message accuses the United States of predetermining its end (doom) by its policies. ?The Jews rule the Pentagon by remote control and (are the cause) of Muslims being killed in every corner of the world. The United States should therefore expect more blows.?

The message is signed on behalf of the al Bayan (The Threat) movement by ?your warrior brother, Abul Hassan al Khadrami?.

Our Muslim expert identifies the name of the signatory as belonging to a Yemeni from Hadhrameuth, the Bin Ladens? place of origin where Osama enjoys substantial tribal support.

DEBKAfile?s counter-terror sources stress that warnings appearing on these forums are taken both very seriously and with caution by the intelligence services keeping track of the terrorist network?s electronic traffic.

Last November, Jeddah-based fundamentalist forums addressed a message to an Al Qaeda member, saying whoever understands ? understands; whoever knows, knows, but we are marching towards an operation that will take us to Paradise. Three days later, the Mombasa Paradise hotel was blown up killing 12 Kenyans and 3 Israelis and a failed shoulder-launched Strela anti-air missile missed an Israeli airliner at Mombasa airport.

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "A Linda woman was arrested Wednesday with enough explosive detonation cord in her car to blow a crater in the road, according to a state bomb and arson expert.

A Yuba County sheriff's deputy found the cord in a 5-gallon plastic bucket inside the car when he stopped Teresa Jean Oliver, 43, of the 5900 block of Garden Avenue, for a vehicle code violation at 8:34 p.m., Undersheriff Steve Durfor said.

Oliver, who is on parole for a previous drug offense, was arrested on suspicion of possessing a destructive device without a permit and was being held Friday in the Yuba County Jail in lieu of $500,000 bail. A court date had not been set Friday.

After recognizing a parolee who was a passenger in the car, the deputy searched the car and found what he believed to be detonation cord. The parolee, who was not identified, was not arrested, Durfor said.

The car was registered to Oliver, he said.

California Department of Forestry bomb and arson investigator Phil Porto was called to the scene and ordered a 300-foot perimeter set up around Oliver's car in the parking lot of the Linda Wal-Mart store on North Beale Road. The Linda Fire Department also was summoned.





Porto estimated the bucket contained almost 2,000 feet of the cord, which he said is highly explosive when exposed simultaneously to heat and shock. Porto said the car did not contain blasting caps that are ordinarily used to ignite the cord.

If the cord had exploded, it would have demolished the car, blown a 4-foot crater in the road and turned anyone in or near the car into "red mist," Porto said."

I've often wondered if the "official" line we get about seeing NEST deployed, etc has to do with calming the sheeples - and the real threat IS suitcase or tactical nukes. Guess it would be a pretty good cover to say "we're taking measures to prevent/respond to a dirty bomb attack".

This also is why I got upset, especially when I saw Sean posting like mad at the yahoo group. Because it is so serious, so many get frantic and more frantic when left with nothing for days.

We need cargo inspections prior to shipment release and border patrols (we're a nation of unemployed people - put some of them to work doing the nation good - how much effort would it take to train people with cell phones or walkie-talkies and have a support team ready for pickups if needed). My mother often talked about the WPA grants where people during the great depression did community projects that stand to this day. We are in great need to employ desperate people and we desperately need to protect our borders.
