Al Qaeda again threatens New York, Washington and Los Angeles - Daily Terror Threat

A new message was posted in the last few hours by the Jeddah-based al-Qaeda-linked Al-Islah (Reform) society calling on Muslims to flee New York, Washington and Los Angeles in advance of major al Qaeda attacks in those cities. This is revealed by DEBKAfile.

The message accuses the United States of predetermining its end (doom) by its policies. ?The Jews rule the Pentagon by remote control and (are the cause) of Muslims being killed in every corner of the world. The United States should therefore expect more blows.?

The message is signed on behalf of the al Bayan (The Threat) movement by ?your warrior brother, Abul Hassan al Khadrami?.

Our Muslim expert identifies the name of the signatory as belonging to a Yemeni from Hadhrameuth, the Bin Ladens? place of origin where Osama enjoys substantial tribal support.

DEBKAfile?s counter-terror sources stress that warnings appearing on these forums are taken both very seriously and with caution by the intelligence services keeping track of the terrorist network?s electronic traffic.

Last November, Jeddah-based fundamentalist forums addressed a message to an Al Qaeda member, saying whoever understands ? understands; whoever knows, knows, but we are marching towards an operation that will take us to Paradise. Three days later, the Mombasa Paradise hotel was blown up killing 12 Kenyans and 3 Israelis and a failed shoulder-launched Strela anti-air missile missed an Israeli airliner at Mombasa airport.

Yeah, but my home 45 miles west of the NYC. I work 6 miles from the City and travel there frequently. If something bad happens, how will I get home to be the protector?

Can't believe I didn't put that one down! You do not want to use leaves...ask my neighbor who did use leaves once but now knows exactly what poison ivy looks like...had to be hospitalized! Arghhh.......

Basically, as you go through your daily routine, think about each thing you use and whether it would be helpful or useful or necessary to have in an emergency - write these things down and keep them kind of grouped logically. There might be enough warning but maybe not. Think about if power is out; stores closed, etc. Matches, candles, etc. I had not thought about cash like liz suggested and I think someone earlier upthread said to get small denominations. If you only have $20 bills, you may not be able to get change and a loaf of bread suddenly costs you $20...I think it was the lady in Arizona who put that idea out there. Very smart.

Midaat Mursi: Dirty Bomber on the Loose

US intelligence agencies fighting al-Qaeda have launched a manhunt in the US, Mexico, Canada and elsewhere for Midaat Mursi, the Egyptian who, according to DEBKA-Net-Weekly’s counter-terror sources, is chairman of al-Qaeda’s WMD committee. He is believed to be traveling with one or two other people, carrying dirty bombs.

The exploits of Mursi, also known as Abu Khabab, and his companions are one of the main immediate triggers for the raising of the terror alert in the US from elevated (yellow) to high (orange) at the end of December. The alert was again lowered to yellow last week, but our terror experts say that this does not mean that the danger is gone. Rather, it means that the Americans are not sure these days whether Mursi is in North America, Europe or the Middle East.

But reports about him being sent by his commander, al-Qaeda’s number-two, Ayman al-Zawahiri, to carry out radioactive attacks in a big Western city are being confirmed by intelligence sources. To avoid jeopardizing the manhunt now in process, DEBKA-Net-Weekly’s counter-terror sources can’t reveal all the details about where this information comes from.

What we can say at this stage is that American special forces are engaged in a number of operations inside western Europe, Chechnya, and in Palestinian cities and refugee camps in the Middle East. In addition, for the first time, there have been secret raids inside the US itself.

These undercover operations have netted several dozen of Mursi’s collaborators and accomplices who were arrested and moved to undisclosed places where they are under interrogation. In the past few days, these interrogations have revealed more details about the radioactive attack that was planned for New Year’s Eve.

Interesting that the cause of death was now determined to be something else for the one person...(the originally meng. one).

They said typically 6-7 die a year on BA flights...bad way to start this year with two on one flight...

Be curious to see what else comes out over the next days or weeks...at least something else should come out with the final death report...interesting that no one on the flights seems to have spoken publically...

The cause of death of the male passenger who died onboard a British Airways flight from Miami to London was ''broncopneumonia, contributed to by carcinoma of the right kidney,'' an autopsy performed in London has revealed, a Scotland Yard spokeswoman said Tuesday.

Previously, the 56-year-old man, whose name and nationality have not been disclosed, was suspected to have died of meningitis.

Larry Cameron, spokesman for the Miami-Dade Medical Examiner's Office, said it is unlikely that spinal meningitis would be connected with broncopneumonia and carninoma of the kidney.

The man was one of three passengers who died onboard flights that departed last weekend from Miami to Heathrow airport. Patricia Grant, 59- or 60-year-old woman, also died on British Airways Flight 208 that departed Miami at 8:35 p.m. Saturday. The plane was diverted to Halifax, Nova Scotia, after she suffered a heart attack. She died of cardiac arrest, according to Joe Taplin of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Halifax.

In addition, a 19-year-old British woman died onboard Virgin Atlantic Flight 6, which departed Miami en route to Heathrow on Sunday. That autopsy is still pending, the Scotland Yard spokeswoman said.

British Airways spokeswoman Honor Verrier said that on average no more than six or seven passengers die due to medical causes each year onboard the airline.
