Chasm

across the chasm your words fly
stinging they bring tears to my eyes
the chasm widens, yawning again
I wanted you to be my soulmate, friend
my heart lays dead before you
was it truly a monster that had to be slain?
or was the thought of my love a terror to you?

Thanks for the fireplace .... it feels wonderful on this cold day. Well it's 59 so far, expected to reach 65. It was 86 yesterday. I like the cooler weather but the sudden change almost kills you.

Painted Leaves

Lazy summer afternoon
Lie beneath the trees
Stare into the clear blue sky
Reminisce your dreams
Your eyes are like the rays of sun
Splashed down between the leaves
Your face takes on a peaceful glow
As your spirit leaves
Sail across the golden clouds
Above the tree tops tall
Your eyes become the rainbow of

A kangaroo kept getting out of his enclosure at the zoo. Knowing that he could hop high, the zoo officials put up a ten-foot fence. He was out the next morning, just roaming around the zoo. A twenty-foot fence was put up. Again he got out.

When the fence was forty feet high, a camel in the next enclosure asked the kangaroo, "How high do you think they'll go?"

The kangaroo said, "About a thousand feet, unless somebody locks the gate at night!"

A man speaks frantically into the phone, "My wife is pregnant, and her contractions are only two minutes apart!"

"Is this her first child?" the doctor queries.

"No, you idiot!" the man shouts. "This is her husband!"
