"The California gubernatorial race between incumbent Democrat Gov. Gray Davis and Republican challenger Bill Simon is still very much in play," United Press International reports in its Capital Comment column.
"A recent statewide Field poll showed Simon trailing Davis by 7 points with both candidates polling at less than 40 percent. This means that voters are still trying to make up their minds and will likely break late

This poll was taken, BEFORE a judge threw out the recent trial jury verdict, against Simon's investment company. That issue, was being used by Davis, to portray Simon as a corrupt businessman.
IF (and with CA Republicans it is a BIG IF) Simon can capitalize on the judge reversal, it puts Simon in pretty good shape for a six week dash to the finish line.
I have yet to see any Simon adds, TV or print. I have yet to see a single Simon bumper sticker or yard sign. If his campaign had even thought of such things, now would be a good time to get them out.

We are seeing some Simon Ads on the Cable channels here in Southern Cal, but Davis clearly has the bigger AD MONey!

They recently started advertising on TV and radio. Concerning bumper stickers and yard signs, maybe Kelly or Norm can help out.

Thanks for this good news.
This will make those maggots at the Gayronicle panic and overflow their Depends.
Bad news for the professional hate Republicans and Simon, phoney conservatives on Free Republic, the real fifth column Axis of Whining Weasels who work 24/7 to smear Simon while pretending to be conservatives!

I'm sure that a lot of us have that same effect. Sometimes we spread joy when we come into a room, say something or put it on the internet.
Then sometimes we spread joy when we shut up, turn off our computers and leave the room!

Always happy to spread a little joy.
Bless you Coop.

Not much comment on this!
let's ping some folks!
Spread the word everyone!

Perhaps this news coupled with the judge throwing out that baseless verdict will cause some of the CA conservatives with big wallets to throw some $$$ Simon's way. I suspect some were holding back their $$$ waiting to hear what would come of the verdict.

Yep. As to the polling firm though, their acronym sucks--"POS". LOL.
In any event, step on over to Simon's website for the ad with W and Rudy. It's very positive, IMHO. If you can't find it, let me know and I'll get a link for you...
