Here’s a heart-warming video about a German who moved to America to get married, only to discover most of what he thought he knew was wrong.
“Europe lied to me about America, but not in the way you think. Because I didn’t move here because I hated Germany. I moved here because I fell in love with an American. And two years later, I have to admit something that makes many of my old friends angry. Because the country I was taught to look down on made me more hopeful, more ambitious, and more free than I ever imagined. And that is uncomfortable because it means America was not the country I misunderstood.
“Happy birthday, USA. The World Cup is happening here. And right now, Europeans are having the same moment I had two years ago. They arrive with jokes. They arrive with opinions. They arrive thinking they already understand America. And then normal America hits them in the face. Not Hollywood America, not political America, just normal America. And that is exactly what breaks the story Europe told. When I watch this World Cup tourists, I see myself two years ago. I see that moment where the America I was warned about disappeared. Two years ago, on July 1st, I moved from Germany to the United States of America. And I did not just move countries. I moved from a culture of caution into a culture of courage. And I was not ready for what would do that to me.”

A simple anecdote. Out with friends, including a German, to do some shooting at a private range. He had never handled a firearm before but was excited to give it a try. We had some silhouette targets and some others, which we nailed to a large tree. He was concerned about damaging the tree and having to report the damage to authorities. We just said, “Hey this is America!” and blasted happily away.
Yes, it was fantastic.
I wish people could realize that this is what those of us who love America don’t want to lose. We don’t want to “fundamentally transform” America. The ones who want to do that should go someplace else where they don’t have to undo everything we are here. There are plenty of places they could be all that, but there is only one America. If we lose it, it’s gone from the world forever. Ronald Reagan was right when he said that if America would stop being free there would be no place free left to go.
Someone from the Outside Really nailed the Freedom to Dream And Grasp that Dream.
Martin Luther King Immortalized those Four Words.

Just wow.
He gets it more than the majority of Americans get it. But he gets it.
This is also more proof again that our country has betrayed us with immigration. It isn't that conservatives hate immigration and immigrants. That is plain.
It is that our government, mostly the Left, has focused overwhelmingly at bringing people to this country both legally AND illegally who despise us and our values, they have no intention of assimilating and becoming Americans, and they bring their twisted values with them like the Somalis do, where in their case it is a cultural norm to steal from their government.

Great article. To all his reservations and doubts I would only say to him…. “Arnold”, another guy with a thick accent who seems to have understood that this was the land of opportunity and was never ashamed of his ambition.
I think during casting for Terminator James Cameron asked Arnold what he wanted to be as an actor, and Arnold replied he didn’t want to be an actor, he wanted to be a movie star.
Good for him.
