President Trump promised the people of Iran the United States would help them overthrow the Islamic dictatorship, and on Saturday he delivered. A joint attack with Israel killed the ayatollah and 7 of his henchmen generals. The bombing continued. We added to the list of the unalive a few other generals and of course our old friend, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the original Holocaust Denier.
The lightning swift initial victory calmed my nervousness about this turning into another Iraq. The reality is this will not turn into a wider war. Trump knew that before he brought in his aircraft carriers—one to attack Iran, one to protect Israel.
Russia is stuck in Ukraine. Red China is trying to Sun Tzu the world by winning the war without fighting one. And best of all, Trump’s years of working with Saudi Arabia and other Muslim nations paid off. I explained how that worked on Saturday.
For the first time in history, Arab nations are siding with Israel...

I don’t consider this any “best weekend” for anyone. Seems a little early for kick and giggles.

Iran’s aggressive policy of expansion and attack via it’s support of Hamas, Hezbollah (in Lebanon, Venezuela, and many other nations) the Houthis, and other militant groups, as well as sponsoring terrorism in North and South American got real old. While I applaud Trump for his patience and trying to negotiate over and over again with Iran, everybody with a brain knew this was necessary. The problem isn’t just a regime, it’s a people (to be fair it’s the people that are left after the murder of the good people who resisted the Mullahs) that continue to support the ideology.
I just don’t think the Iranian people and leadership are smart enough to quit supporting worldwide attacks and start looking to solve internal problems like drought, and water, and trade, and sanctions. They will likely just elect another Religious leader and continue the status quo.

When it comes to striking Iran, Donald Trump has been consistent for 47 years. Look at this clip from October 1980 when he called for military intervention to free American hostages taken during the Iranian Revolution. Also FYI: during his 2016,2020 and 2024 presidential campaigns, he consistently said multiple times that Iran “will never be allowed to have a nuclear weapon.” Below is the 1980 transcript:
Donald Trump in 1980: “When you get the respect of other countries then the other countries tend to do a little bit as you do and you can create the right attitudes. The Iranian situation is a case in point. That they hold our hostages is just absolutely and totally ridiculous. That this country sits back and allows a country such as Iran to hold our hostages to my way of thinking is a horror and i don’t think they’d do it with other countries. I honestly don’t think they’d do it with other countries.”
Rona Barrett: “Obviously you’re advocating that we should have gone in there with troops et cetera and brought our boys out.”
Donald Trump: “I absolutely feel that yes. I don’t think there’s any question in it, there’s no question in my mind.I think right now we’d be an oil-rich nation and I believe that we should have done it and I’m very disappointed that we didn’t do it and i don’t think anybody would have held us in abeyance.
