The ladies hosting The View are fans of the Paramount+ series Landman. In November of 2024, they were gushing over the star Billy Bob Thornton. So they might be shocked to hear a brutal critique of their show and them coming out of the mouth of his character Tommy Norris.
It came in episode 5 of the second season when Tommy was explaining to his father TL (Sam Elliott) what "The View was all about. Here is their conversation as relayed by Variety:

That would be more Taylor Sheridan than Billy Bob Thornton.
It’s a great show. Not very realistic, but a great show nonetheless.
Landman is better than most shows out there. The first season was the best.
IMHO the best actor going today.
My thoughts exactly, steve. Been there, done that, ain’t buying the movie version.
Oil-patch work was at one time quite the deal to be involved in. Like most other things, the big money dried up with technology.
Sam Shepard is one of my favorites.
But farts will always be funny.
I can see the gals embracing it. I doubt that they see themselves as funny. Irreverent maybe. And of course, it’s a farr in an uptight white, transphobic Handmaid’s Tale kind of church, so that’s good.
But farts will always be funny.
he’s one of us.
I can’t believe this show made it on the air. How did this speech get past the PC censorship?

I love the show but I absolutely cannot stand his wife. She’s over the top ridiculous and unnecessary
“But farts will always be funny.”
Why do farts stink? So the deaf can enjoy them too.
Turn the sound off and watch her jump around.
That was hilarious when Thornton was describing “The View” to Sam Elliot.
And we’re surprised and how current the show is re current events and politics. It seems to lean right.
We’re enjoying it. I read that it’s been picked up for a third season.
“How did this speech get past the PC censorship?”
It doesn’t have to; it’s streaming.
“I absolutely cannot stand his wife.”
She’s a pill for sure. She’ll do/say something terrible, then she’ll do/say something possible to show that she has a kind heart. A definite paradox.
Ok. After watching that trailer, I guess I’m gonna subscribe to Paramount+.
