it was a difficult learning experience
Hollywood leftist pressure of selling movies outside the US and then debasing your own country.
There’s no way back from Jane Fonda territory. He’s a traitor.
John Xena.
Ya think?
Pathetic groveling apology to the Chinese Communist Party
That was 14 full years ago. He is still bending the battered knee to Red China? I recall when he did it. He appeared to be speaking Mandarin very easily, and many in the States thought he was pandering to the Chinese.
He must have the potential for earning a boatload of cash in the foreseeable future, to still be bringing this up. Commies tend to have long memories for any show of opposition or possible defiance.
The red Chinese market is less important now so there really isn’t much reason to kiss their ass. Just as well movies got even worse when they were aiming for their market (though it was less gay than usual)
This guy is just invisible to me now.
It wasn’t *just* pissing people off. He is supposed to be an action star and that made him look like a little bi&@h. Hard to take a tough guy character seriously when all you picture is a good doggie licking Xi’s toes.
“It was like a Ron Burgundy moment,” Cena said, referring to a famous gag from the comedy “Anchorman” in which Will Ferrell’s character mindlessly reads offensive rhetoric from the teleprompter.
“Go F___ Yourself, America!”
Cena needs to go over there and star in Chinese films. There are a lot more chinese than Americans, so he has a bigger base. He should also take all of his crap with him. We don’t need his a*s in this country anymore.
Ric Flair would never apologize.
He did just like Lebron — took the knee to his masters in public.
Why expect otherwise? Hi is an “actor” — paid to lie in public by pretending to be what he is not.
He shouldn’t apologize. He is who he is... a man willing to bow down and grovel for millions of dollars. I’m pretty sure I’d of done the same thing for a lot less. Who really cares about a jester..a puppet who performs for money. meh.. don’t care.
John China can suck it.
Well, I certainly haven’t forgotten what he did!
It was unmanly!
Watching him abase himself before his Chinese masters was embarrassing. He put his man card in the shredder. Zero respect.
Now that he’s had a hair transplant, he still thinks he’s relevant.
C-SPAN had an interesting interview with Enes Kanter Freedom, the former NBA star, whose career was ended prematurely because he refused to stop making statements about human rights abuses—especially those by China. He grew up in Turkey but is now a US citizen. He talked about how growing up he was constantly told how bad Americans, Christians and Jews were, and only learned otherwise after he came to the US. He would have played basketball in high school and college in the US but the Turkish government was able to prevent that. He would have earned another 40 to 60 million dollars more if his career had continued another 6 years.
