This week, a six-pack of Democrat members of Congress urged federal military and intelligence officers to disobey "illegal orders." The six included Sen. Elissa Slotkin (Mich), Sen. Mark Kelly (Az), Rep. Chris DeLuzio (Penn), Rep. Maggie Goodlander (NH), Rep. Chrissy Houlihan (Penn), Rep. Jason Crow (Colo). All touted their own prior service in these federal agencies.
Their joint statement asserted "this administration is pitting our uniformed military and intelligence community professionals against American citizens. Like us, you all swore an oath to protect and defend the Constitution. Right now, the threats to our Constitution aren't just coming from abroad, but from right here at home. Our laws are clear. Whether you're serving in the CIA, the Army, Navy, or Air Force, you must refuse illegal orders."
Notably, the statement neglected to specify which orders they were referring to. Retired Navy Captain Mark Kelly defended this ambiguity, saying "you never let your enemy know what your strategy is or how you intend to implement it. By planting this seed of doubt in the minds of the people serving as this country's national defense and letting them know that the Democrats in Congress have their backs we optimize our chances of thwarting the evil intentions of the Trump Administration."
White House deputy chief of staff for policy Stephen Miller said "if these Democrats had any integrity they would identify which orders they believe to be illegal and make their case to the American people. Instead, they are trying to bait military personnel into causing an incident that can only undermine our national defense. High-ranking members of the legislative branch urging such disobedience seems far worse to me than the January 6, 2021 trespassing into the Capitol building that Democrats called an insurrection."
Sen. Slotkin said "President Trump's assertion that what we did is seditious and potentially punishable by death is doubly wrong. First, only military members can be put to death for committing sedition. Second, since we carefully worded our call for troops to only disobey illegal orders we cannot be found guilty of sedition."
There is no depth Dums will not go. This is treason and they need to resign.

Echos of Hitler
Why hasn’t the senate taken some kind of disciplinary action against these treasonous six socialists pimping for insurrection against the United States to defend their foreign invaders?
These are the same asshats that demanded troops who refused the covid jab should be discharged for disobeying an order.
Senator Slotkin, perhaps you mean like Jack Smith wrote in the warrant against Donald Trump's Mar-A-Lago, with Barron and Melania present, to allow any of dozens of FBI to use their weapons against Trump's family and staff. The unconfirmed Special Counsel took it upon himself to quietly so authorize the FBI.
If they said this while in the Capital they are immune.
If they said any of this anywheres else, they are vulnerable.

Thanks, John, for another fine and important column.
And, as an aside, at least uber weasel Kelly has ensured the nation that he'll never be seriously considered for higher office.
thx
