The age of consent in 30 states is 16. It's 17 in several others. Pedophilia is attraction to prepubescent children, children who have not reached any stage of puberty.

Yes; it’s been common throughout most of human history. (The reason we assume that Mary was 13 or 14 is simply because among the Jews of the time, that was the age when girls generally became betrothed and then married.)

Frankly, the extancy of this thread, Megyn Kelly’s attempting to ‘get ahead’ of things by seemingly re-litigating what sex with minors is in our current age, et Al should I feel make FReepers a bit concerned about the state of things or what is to come. Important to make sure that big offenders like Clinton and his ilk - really the entire wealth and power circuit in our politics - get stamped by whatever is discovered.

Seventeen year olds can join the Marines and can marry in dozens of states.
And before photo ID, many just lied about their age and joined the service at 16. It was a freer society for minors before photo ID, as they had more life options earlier in life.

I mean if you don’t just have an innate sense that regardless of what the law says or what happened throughout history that someone in their 30s or 40s having sex with a 16 year old is wrong or at least abnormal, I can’t help you.
