To me this is even more significant since it has been measured under the same conditions since 1957 - when the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station was established. This is unlike many of the other temperature measurement stations around the world.
Interestingly, during the Amundsen - Scott expeditions in Antarctica in 1911/12 they experienced temperatures of -16C.

My dog's coat has never been as thick in his 8 years as it is now. He's a year-round shedder, he completely stopped shedding in late Summer and his white undercoat is totally covered. Tripping over way more acorns on the ground this year than previously. Stink bugs trying to get into the house which I haven't seen since 2009. It sounds like Farmer's Almanac but things seem to be much different this year than the recent past.

Well, I’m still riding my bike in Massachusetts, and October is almost over, so I’m not too worried about Antarctica.
38F in Raleigh NC this morning, and most of the leaves on the trees are still green. We also just enjoyed the nicest August, September and October weather here that anyone can remember. My last 3 electric bills have all been less than last year’s bills from the same months. And President Trump has only been in office 9 months. Also, Joe Biden has been out of office for even longer...
