Speaking during an interview on ABC’s “The View,” Vice President Kamala Harris announced that she had a “mole” inside Fox News channel, a friend who has fed her insider information from Fox News, including on election night. The news came as she discussed finding out she failed on election night, but could hint at big problems for Fox News moving forward.
For reference, former Vice President and failed 2024 presidential candidate Kamala Harris’s claims on the matter came when she appeared on “The View” on Tuesday, September 23. As she discussed finding out that she was going to lose, she claimed that she had a source within Fox News Channel’s election night war room who leaked data to her and her campaign team about how badly she was losing.
The context of her story was that, as she told “The View” audience and co-hosts, her husband, Doug Emhoff, had been campaigning alongside her brother-in-law, and seemed to have good news. She began by saying that Emhoff “told me that he had been out campaigning with my brother-in-law in Pennsylvania, and we met back up in D.C., and I remember him being a little out of sorts, but there was so much happening.”
Continuing, Kamala explained that the news had initially been quite good, or at least Emhoff insisted that things from his on-the-ground perspective seemed good, saying, “But on his way back from a rally where there was an incredible amount of enthusiasm, people on the ground were like, ‘We got it, we got it, we’re gonna do this.”
However, that ran into the iron wall of reality, as the mole inside Fox News secretly fed them information, or so she claimed, about what was really happening in Pennsylvania. She said, “And then they talked with a mutual friend of ours who was over at Fox News, in the war room, who had been hearing about data that suggested things were not looking great in Pennsylvania.”
Kamala then added that her husband reported “prayed it was not gonna be a bad night” while in the shower. And, commenting on her loss, she threw Biden under the bus, saying, “I am a loyal person, and I didn’t fully appreciate how much people wanted to know there was a difference between me and President Biden.”

Predictably, conservatives were outraged by Kamala’s claims about having an inside source at Fox News, noting that such information makes trusting the network to provide reliable information or support MAGA candidates impossible, as media bastions of Democrat support certainly don’t have Trump agents within them.
Amongst the accounts that drew attention to that online was the Johnny MAGA X account, which wrote, “Kamala says she has a friend in the Fox News war room who was leaking her team data on election night. How many ‘friends’ do you think President Trump has at MSNBC? This is why we don’t trust Fox.”

A mole inside Fox News is not out of the question.
Back in the cold war, the Russians used something akin to this. Thru the use of false defectors and other methods, they succeeded in planting in the CIA the idea that there was a well-placed mole. IIRC, it was a decades long search that affected the CIA’s ability to run operations for the fear they’d be exposed.

What good would that do?
How would Fox News have data about PA other organizations didn’t have? Even if CNN, for example, didn’t publicly present that data, they’d still know about it. And political parties pay more money to post her so they’re supposed to have more accurate data than what is publicly released. I can’t believe she’d get better data from Fox News than any other source. And come on you know most people at Fox News, id any, aren’t conservative. But I don’t see what confidential information they wouldn’t know.

I used AI to track down the most likely culprit. The best answer is Michael G. Miller.
Miller, an Associate Professor of Political Science at Barnard College, has been working as an analyst on the Fox News Decision Desk since 2017. Miller specializes in statistical modeling and data analysis, using his expertise to help project election winners before all votes are officially tallied. He has been particularly involved in developing the sophisticated statistical models that the Decision Desk uses for race calling.
Miller is also an Associate Professor of Political Science at Barnard College, Columbia University, where he has been on faculty since 2014. Prior to joining Barnard, Miller served as Assistant Professor of Political Science at the University of Illinois, Springfield from 2010-2014.
Most importantly, Doug Emhoff had documented interactions with Columbia University Jewish leaders during his time as Second Gentleman, including calls with Rabbi Elie Buechler (Orthodox Union-JLIC at Columbia and Barnard College) and Brian Cohen (Columbia Barnard Hillel Director) during campus protests in April 2024. Miller works at Barnard College, which has significant Jewish student populations, and during Emhoff's outreach to Columbia/Barnard Jewish leaders, he would have been working in the same institutional environment where Miller teaches.

As I read this, she is saying that her staff and her husband and her party and her media were all telling her she was going to win. But someone from Fox told her the truth. Firstly why is this a story other than she really had no idea her people were lying to her. And second she does not understand that truth is not partisan. Its the truth. Fox has been reporting the truth for months before the election. You did not need a mole. You could have watched like all of us did. And you don’t have a mole. There are lots of democrats on Fox. And they are free to tell Kamala that she was losing. I would expect that. These people are truly nuts. It is scary that the swamp wants these crazy people in office so they can run the government behind their backs.
Probably have to stop there with leak. What onfidential information do they have?
It sounds like the mole is right next to her big mouth.
It was about managing expectations at that point, and Emhoff saw everyone hyped up for a big win that he was being told wasn't going to happen.
