Caution TPUSA potential fraud donation solicitations

TPUSA’s site is tpusa.com, and going there to donate takes one to donorbox.

Today I received unsolicited text reading

Hi (No.6) it's Tucker Carlson. I don't write messages like this often, but after losing Charlie, I can't stay quiet. I loved Charlie Kirk. He was more than a leader - he was my friend. Losing him has been devastating... But if you knew Charlie, you would know exactly what he would say to us right now: "Don't you dare quit." He poured his life into Turning Point USA to save this country... Now, (No.6), it's our duty to keep that mission alive. Will you give today in Charlie's honor to grow the movement he gave everything for? Make your gift now: tp-win.org/******

Or here: to donate by PayPal

Or by mail to: Free Republic, LLC - PO Box 9771 - Fresno, CA 93794

Thank you very much and God bless you.

Name replaced with handle and final character of link URL replaced with asterisks.

This reads like a winred text but deceptive as to its origin and definitely not the real organization. Please exercise caution as you consider your response to the Charlie assassination.

I’d say a scam for sure.

But since Tucker has lost credibility with me, I wouldn’t give anyways to some site allegedly claiming to be him.

🚨BREAKING NEWS: IL School District 214 Tried to Erase Charlie Kirk!
@charliekirk11
— Wheeling High School grad, Eagle Scout, student-athlete, and founder of
@TPUSA
— had his alumni plaque quietly removed from the District 214 “Wall of Notable Alumni” years ago. No explanation. No accountability. Charlie was Just erased.

Now, after Charlie’s tragic death, the residents of Kirk’s hometown are demanding his plaque be restored — not as some watered-down version to appease a woke school board, but with the truth of who he was:
✔️ Founder of one of the largest youth political organizations in America
✔️ National thought leader
✔️ Medal of Freedom recipient

District 214 has a choice: continue silencing voices they don’t like… or face the fact that Charlie Kirk shaped politics in America and inspired a generation.

Residents are done being quiet. They’re demanding his recognition, AND 📣APPROVAL of TPUSA CHAPTERS, as well as a “Charlie Kirk Day of Honor.”

Because here’s the truth: you can take down a plaque, but you can’t erase a legacy.

Here is what AI has to say, for what t's worth:

Following the shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025, multiple scam text messages have circulated, falsely claiming to be from his wife, Erika Kirk, and soliciting donations in his memory.

These fraudulent messages state, “I refuse to let the movement Charlie built die. It will only grow – stronger, bolder, louder. Join me,” followed by a link to donate.

Law enforcement agencies, including the Banks County Sheriff’s Office, Habersham County Sheriff’s Office, and Effingham County Sheriff’s Office, have issued public warnings confirming these texts are scams designed to exploit the tragedy for financial gain.

Authorities advise the public not to click on any links associated with these messages, as doing so may lead to identity theft, malware, or financial fraud.

Additionally, scammers have impersonated Turning Point USA, the organization co-founded by Kirk, in an attempt to collect fraudulent donations.

These scams are part of a broader wave of online misinformation and financially motivated hoaxes following Kirk’s death, including fake stories about large donations from public figures that have been debunked by fact-checkers.

Yep. “AI” is just a big aggregator of data with similarly massive (and ongoing) training as to right/wrong responses, but in this case it’s aggregated correctly.

Hope the real TPUSA team vets the many thousands of chapter requests carefully. The liars would love to do a “Patriot Front” false flag using their name.

My wife got that message on her phone yesterday, we knew it was fake.

I received the exact same message and immediately deleted it as I don’t donate to entities who are not doing good works or not running for an election I am concerned about their winning. Can’t afford to just throw money away.
