Over thirty people across the country have been fired, put on leave, investigated or faced calls to resign because of social media posts criticizing Charlie Kirk or expressing schadenfreude about the conservative influencer's assassination earlier this week, according to an analysis by NPR.

Under 18 U.S.C. § 875(c) and 18 U.S.C. § 115(a)(1)(A), it’s a federal crime to transmit threats to injure or kill family members of a U.S. person in interstate communications.

Calling for the assassination of Charlie Kirk’s widow and children isn’t “free speech” it’s a prosecutable threat.

The FBI has jurisdiction, and platforms are legally obligated under 18 U.S.C. § 230(d) to cooperate when speech crosses into criminal incitement.

There is no First Amendment shield for explicit calls to murder a family. Accountability under federal law is mandatory. 🇺🇸
