It is kind of hard to describe violent left-wing assassins as “aberrations” when you’ve millions of people openly cheering them on. They are not the aberration; they are the predictable result of their training and indoctrination.
Unfortunately, we’ve been in a civil war since Obama’s election, maybe even before. The Left thought they won. Trump’s election proved to them that they hadn’t. Their violent response is now obvious.

The response of decent people to terrorist activity is totally inadequate to stop that activity. That is why decent people lose.
Our enemies transform us. One way or another, we will abandon much of the restraints that we believe make us "decent people". No, we won't get those character traits back either.
A very large fraction of the population actively wants a Leftist society in which they imagine they can forcibly dominate and punish others who they do not like. That conflict with the rest of the people will not be settled by words and clever arguments.
It will be settled by organization and force.
