We keep seeing a couple of seconds of video that people want us to talk about, but we don’t see the entire thing.

With King it was about the first 11 seconds that was hidden, but this is different, I want to see all the reactions and body language.
I never heard it was the onlookers who said that. I thought it was the perp. If true, then I stand corrected by evidence.
I haven’t watched it but as fast as he acted in stabbing her, there was no way anyone could have stopped him in time. Most have earbuds in focused on their phones.
People sometimes ask why I carry. Part of it is because I have people to protect and I will do that. But the other part is that, sadly, because of my size, age and sex I am less likely to get in trouble for using force then most people. A tall, strong young man steps in and he is likely going to get hit with having been using excessive force. I do something and they are going to look at a short, middle aged female with a limp and think, "well, what else could she have done?" And they are right. Subduing someone in a fist fight is beyond me.
I am the only person who can actually act and, possibly, not get in enough trouble to drown in.

I don’t think this is fair, I think it took a while for people to even realize what happened, the entire footage from the stabbing to him leaving the train is like 30 sec. And there wasn’t any struggle or fight, he stabbed her in the neck and just walked away, she couldn’t even yell or scream, people didn’t realize what happened until later, you do hear people saying oh my god, oh my god, toward the end of the footage.
I mean there may be more video, but based on what is posted this is right after he stabbed her and she is sitting there hugging her body, so I can’t blame others for not jumping up and doing something based on THIS video. I’m shocked she didn’t immediately fall over if he hit a carotid and she lost blood pressure.
Based on this video, it’s just rage bait to blame the passengers for not helping. Now if she fell to the floor and no one came to her aide, that wouldn’t be rage bait. Someone said above that a passenger applied pressure at some point?
And liberal leftists cannot figure why people would rather drive a car than ride mass transit.
Does the Good Samaritan Laws apply?

Public transportation sucks most of the time. This time it was worse.

The only place I’ll ride mass transit is Japan. It was heavenly, and coming back to the U.S. felt like entering a third-word country (we re-entered in L.A., because we took a cruise back).
This is why I refuse to use public transit. You basically have a choice between doing nothing to help someone in distress, or taking action and getting the Daniel Penny treatment. Screw that.
I taught my kid when out on the wild situational awareness is critical. Humans are the greatest hunter/killer specie on the planet. Personally I wouldn’t have got on that train. It didn’t meet my safety criteria.

With that being said, if they did witness the attack, what do you expect them to do? Confront an armed lunatic who would likely attack you too?
