Unfortunately I have an Android phone. I assume Android phones will put this feature in eventually.
AMEN!!!
I still get 8-10 texts a day from various WinRed affiliated causes. I always delete and report junk without reading them, but I now make it a point never to give to any cause or candidate which requests a cell number.
I am sufficiently concerned about leftists trolling conservatives with supposed Trump links in order to harm us with malware, I NEVER respond so such texts, no matter who they are supposedly from.
Aside from all the hustler/sales texts, I’m surprised at how much companies and doctors and such that you do business with, want to sent constant texts to you for no real reason, with no real message, it is as though shallow thinkers see the tech available and feel that they should be filling the space with something.
Dont speak to telemarketers or telescammers. They can record your voice to duplicate to scam others in your contact list.
My wife and I are so finished with responding to anyone who texted us for help.
We have sent back many hundreds of STOPs to be removed, and when they respond, they say their campaign won’t use that number with us, again.
So they send it out on a different phone number or they may have a new campaign name, but for the same attention whore candidate. The same holds true for emails. You remove yourself and they just make a new email campaign. The one you just removed yourself from was “GOP-E Suckers 1.” The next campaign you remove yourself from is “”GOP-E Suckers 2,” and so on.
There is never any way to be respected and just not contacted again. WinRed is nearly always the site you are sent to—and WinRed clearly states in its Privacy Policy that your contact information will be freely given to the world and you can’t stop it. At least Anedot plays fair in their Privacy Policy.
The root seems to be WinRed, but Trump’s campaign surely spams your stuff out, to annoy the heck out of you.
If it comes from a democrat I always reply TRUMP
I get the craziest texts - political and personal.
It's a weird world we live in. It's weirder when you are a Democrat.
Outlook does this..................
For political text messages from anyone, I use this:
Upon the first message, I insist that they stop in strong words.
If I get another, I then say something close to: “I asked you to stop. I am now considering campaigning for the opposite of whoever or whatever you are pushing. Continue to use my phone number, and I will not only campaign, I will fundraise for the opposition.”
That usually makes them stop.
Also, never click “Unsubscribe” buttons or links. Doing so also tells the spammers that they’ve found a live number/email address, and your spam will quadruple (at least) overnight. Just block the senders.
Just block the phone numbers as they come. Eventually they stop.
I finally have an opportunity to say something Good that I can remember from from the George W Bush Administration.
During the Bush years the Do Not Call List was started I was in the Cell phone business owning multiple stores. As put of the sales process we would ask people if they would like to be on the Do Not Call List and add them if they said yes.
Under Bush the program worked and spam calls and messages nearly stopped. As soon as Barack Hussein Obama took office and put Jeh Johnson in charge of it the Do Not Call List went to crap Millions of scam calls, text, fishing messages, and scam call attempts started happening. There are millions of dollars being stolen by these scammers and I can’t believe that Obama and his people were not involved !
Another phone industry disaster happened on Obamas watch and of course that was the Obama phone program which our tax dollars are still paying for. The program was supposedly for poor Americans to get phone service so they could communicate, get jobs, and let themselves out of poverty.
In truth it was a scam with Obama awarding the contract to supply the phones and service to Carlos Slim, at the time one of the world’s richest men. He owned Mexico’s largest cell phone provider. That contract should have gone to a US provider. You can’t make me believe that payoffs weren’t included in that deal !
I would begin to contribute to the GOP again if I could stop their incessant text messages and junk mail.
I hate WinRed with a passion.
This past July, I started to only use Free Republic for my so called links for incoming news and messages.
It is amazing how much time is being saved.
Also, if any so called Freepers use hidden/undisclosed links, to any so called info links, their links are trashed and deleted.
No more robo calls?
Sigh. ;-)
