Pathetic. Weak. Intimidated.
Discussing the shooting of a federal LE officer by an illegal alien, the guest was a senior NYC police official, John Chell. He gave off the vibes of a traditional cop. But after years of immersion in New York's liberal politics, and likely haunted by the specter of an imminent Mayor Mamdani, Chell chickened out.
Instead of stating the obvious — that sanctuary city laws need to be utterly abolished — Chell suggested that they merely require "thoughtful change."
Translation of Chell's mealy-mouthed proposal for "thoughtful change": Keep sanctuary city laws on the books for the great majority of illegal immigrants. Make an exception for the "small minority" who commit crimes in addition to their original crime of entering the country illegally. And even create a "path"-- presumably to citizenship -- for the great majority of illegals!
The pusillanimous Scarborough agreed with Chell's prescription. Whereas the careerist cop was seeking to appease New York's liberal powers-that-be, Scarborough was kowtowing to his liberal viewers and network suits:
"You've been very careful to explain. You understand the purpose behind sanctuary cities, and you understand that it's motivated by people with all of the best intentions . . . Again, it's a minority of those that have come to this country illegally, but still the inability to be able to lock them up because of the sanctuary city status. You say that's the real problem here."

The saying “The road to hell is paved with good intentions” likely originated with Saint Bernard of Clairvaux in the 12th century, who wrote “L’enfer est plein de bonnes volontés ou désirs,” which translates to “Hell is full of good wishes or desires”. The modern phrasing with “paved with” and “road” appeared later, with variations in English proverbs collections.
Mr. Word Wizard
Mika’s boy takes being a dumbass to a whole new level.
Where “best intentions” = intended to help Democrats increase their power at any cost.
They are assisting criminal alien invaders. They are supporting sedition. They are supporting riots. I guess from a LIB/DIM point of view those are “best intentions”.
joe is such a nitwit and self-loathing loser.
A year or two ago the filthy bull dyke Maoist Governor of Massachusetts...who long ago declared the state a sanctuary state...called on “ordinary” (my word) residents of the state to take wetbacks into their homes. Six months after her challenge exactly six households had volunteered to do so.
He is really not very bright
The road to hell is paved with good intentions.
I should have double-checked. You beat me by a mile.
He’s as certain of their good intentions as he was of Biden’s mental acuity.
What kind of fool would believe this phony?

I shan't make that mistake again.
Vinnie Barbarino answered Mr. Kotter's questions more substantively than anything Scarborough said.
Yo, Joe! There already IS a path to citenship. There's an entire bloated government bureaucracy devoted to that.
Also, how do you go about determining which illegals coming in are coming here to work hard and pay taxes and which illegals are coming here to rob jewelry shops and shoot people in the face?
Something tells me that if someone jumped the fence and got into Joe's gated community he'd be a little less interested in what their reasons for doing so are. He wouldn't care if they did it to wash his dishes or clean his toilet or wipe his ass. He'd just call the police and get them the hell out of there as quickly as possible and then fire the security guards for letting it happen in the first place.
Hey Joe, the road to hell is paved with good intentions, and dead interns.
“The road to hell is paved with good intentions.”
It took eleven responses to get there?
It was the first thought on my mind...
.
Hey Joe, what is it that greases the skids to Hell?
That’s right, good intentions
The late and great Anthony Scalia said, “The only thing wrong with a living Constitution is it would destroy The Constitution. The Constitution is not static. It can be modified via Constitutional Amendment. The writers of The Constitution made this a difficult process and this was wise.
Imagine a Constitution that could be changed by simple majority vote in Congress. That would be a nightmare as congress often changes between parties and the Constitution would become irrelevant. Thus it was wise to make these decisions come from the individual states with a super majority or a Constitutional Convention.
Our fore fathers were wise.
You are wrong. He is much worse and is not stupid. He is without truth but carries a dump truck load of political lies he pretends is truth. He is evil and with an agenda which is not truth.
Best intentions my ass.
How did that work out for J. Iscariot?
