JUST IN: Supreme Court Denies Florida AG’s Request For Relief From Obama Judge’s Order Blocking Enforcement of State’s Anti-Illegal Immigration Laws

The US Supreme Court on Wednesday denied Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier’s request for relief from an Obama-appointed judge’s order blocking enforcement of the state’s anti-illegal immigration laws.

Last month, a federal judge held Florida’s Attorney General in contempt of court for enforcing the state’s immigration laws.

Uthmeier previously told the corrupt Obama judge that he will not order state authorities to halt enforcement of immigration law.

US District Judge Kathleen Williams, an Obama appointee, issued an injunction claiming Florida’s (state) law violates the Supremacy Clause in the Constitution in response to a lawsuit filed by the anti-American ACLU.

Hmmm... sanctuary cities?

So what’s the next step for the Florida Attorney General in the appeals process, full en banc to the 11th circuit?

They don’t - that’s the point. Supremacy clause.

Federal law is superior to state law. May be state law is in conflict with federal law. Immigration is under
federal jurisdiction. States can not write laws contradicting federal immigration laws.

This is, to me, a clear case of whether the Frederales or the States have charge of “immigration law”...

Maybe FL could accomplish the same thing under a bona fide area still under state control...

Traffic law???
Environmental Law???
Education Law???

Get creative... The communists do...

Perhaps not as bad as it seems. The AG still gets to appeal. The federal government still gets to control immigration.

What I’m wondering is this: Can Trump deputize the Florida law enforcement agencies to help with immigration? That would be an interesting and novel approach.

The U.S. Supreme Court very rarely takes up “emergency applications” like this.

Another important distinction is that this coming from a state Attorney General, not the Department of Justice at the request of the President.

The Supreme Court will take an emergency requestion from the Federal Attorney General with more immediate consideration than from a state because of the separation of powers implications.

(Can Trump deputize the Florida law enforcement agencies to help with immigration?)

I thought he already did that in another state. Good question!

Just, at the direction of the chief Executive, have every Florida LEO sworn in/deputized as US Marshals.

Similar laws in Arizona and Texas were ruled unconstitutional years ago.

Then why did this Florida AG persist in this?

Florida enacted their own anti-illegal immigration laws in response to the fact that the Biden administration was failing in their duty to enforce those federal laws... they wanted a means to police their own borders.

Florida was immediately sued, of course, and this is the result... but at least we have a happy ending since Federal law is now being robustly enforced.

The Republican Joe Biden, George W. Bush, came out to denounce Trump. Why hasn’t the self-described Deporter-in-Chief, Barack Obama, come to Trump’s defense
?

“ Hmmm... sanctuary cities”

If established by legislation, obviously unconstitutional.
