Maybe it's the insatiable need for attention, maybe it's the desperation felt by unimpressive also-rans to come up with anything provocative enough to generate some kind of reaction, or maybe it's the obnoxious preoccupation that DC-dwellers have with their own egos that prevents the exercise of basic human decency.
But whatever it is, the penchant far too many politicians demonstrate to crawl on top of freshly dead bodies - particularly those of innocent children - puff their chests out and use soul-searing pain as a perch for their own pet agenda remains one of the most deplorable social cancers plaguing American society.
The latest mutton-headed demagoguery that robbed shell-shocked families of even a moment to grieve and mourn without seeing their sorrow monetized, came in the wake of the flash-flooding tragedy that occurred in Texas over the weekend. As search and rescue operations were ongoing, bodies of children still being pulled - some dead, some alive - from the water, Connecticut's shameless junior Senator Chris Murphy decided the anguish would make a great arrow to fire at Donald Trump:
Despicable.
If Murphy were seriously suggesting that Donald Trump had anything to do with those poor people drowning in a natural disaster, his critical thinking deficiencies are disqualifying. But obviously everyone knows he doesn't really think that. Consider what that then means. He knows what he is saying isn't true, he knows that Donald Trump had nothing to do with this loss of life, but he's saying differently because he either wants attention, or wants to help his political movement's electoral fortunes, grieving families notwithstanding.
Like I said, despicable. Why do those who exhibit the lowest levels of class and dignity so often hold the highest positions of rank and power? It's a pox upon all of us.
The awful senator isn't alone, sadly. Here's Democrat political strategist and host of ABC's This Week, George Stephanopoulos deliberately lying on national television:
It's incomprehensible how the Democrat host actually thought he would get away with telling this obvious falsehood given that officials on both sides of the political aisle have already debunked it incessantly. Even the ABC host's fellow progressive activists at the Associated Press had reported the truth:
Moreover, here are the easily researched facts, compiled by the folks at WeatherBrains, about the lead-up to this tragedy:
A flash flood watch was issued for Kerr County at 12:41a CT (just after midnight Thursday night). The watch mentioned isolated rain amounts of 10 inches, and stated "Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks." This followed a flash flood watch that was issued Thursday afternoon.
A flash flood warning was issued at 1:14a CT For Kerr County, which mentioned "life threatening flash flooding of creeks, streams, and rivers".
A flash flood "emergency" was issued at 5:34a CT for Kerr County and the Guadalupe River. NWS Austin/San Antonio had five on staff during the event; normally two would be on duty. Extra staffing was planned before the event started.
This type of flash flooding on the Guadalupe River is nothing new. Similar events happened in 1998, 1978, 1935, and 1921. This year's event was related to deep moisture from a tropical system (Barry) that originated in the East Pacific and made landfall near Tampico, Tamaulipas, Mexico, on June 29.
There's no explanation for why ABC's This Week doesn't have enough staff to find that information if I am capable of doing it within five minutes of sitting down at a keyboard.
At this point, it's fairly self-evident how this tragedy unfolded. The warnings were there, but they came in overnight in an area with spotty cell service, on a holiday weekend, in a flood-prone area, where people are used to getting "warnings" that never materialize into anything of this magnitude. It was a worst-case scenario that has come with consequences that are difficult enough to bear on their own.
That our culture must do so while also being baited by the self-serving ignorance of those with power and platforms is unconscionable. We all deserve better.
There are five things I will not discuss with others, friends or not:
1. POLITICS
2. SPORTS
3. SEX IN ANY WAY, SHAPE OR FORM, EVEN REMOTELY.
4. RELIGION OF ANY KIND
5. (Added a few years ago, for obvious reasons) WEATHER..................
After the latest Epstein lie there is no stopping it. Rightfully so.
It’s geography. Not ‘climate change’. Not politics. Not budget cuts. Not white privilege................
That’s why I don’t like it when our side dies it with the LA fires and other events. It’s hypocritical but I suppose natural in this partisan environment.
I don’t remember all this hate coming from our side when Karen B-ASS and Gruesome Newsom were burning down California.
“Bush’s fault!”
Yeah. I’m sure. It was pretty focused.
Though this one was really bad, it has happened before, and people have died. The only reason you are hearing about it now is because a lot of people have moved into Texas from out of state, and they didn’t have sense enough to stay away from the hill country rivers and streams during thunderstorms. The area is very rural, cell phone service is spotty, and emergency personnel are few and far between. It is what it is, and Texans like it that way. If we wanted it to look like California, with towers and power lines strung all over the hillsides, and ranger stations every 500 feet, it would. But, Texans like the seclusion. The only way you are going to improve the safety of the area is require everyone who enters it to have a working satellite phone. Good luck with that one. Otherwise, stay away from the rivers and streams when there are thunderstorms in the area. This is the best early warning system there is, and has worked since the dawn of time.
Inevitable! TDS requires that Trump be blamed, personally, for all the ills of the world, past, present and future.
There is some push back:
“Houston Leftist Booted from Food Insecurity Board After VILE Comment Calling Missing Girls’ Flooded Camp ‘White-Only Girls Camp’”
I don’t like either one.................
Follow the money. These worms are there because there is so much cash involved. They don’t give a damn about the dead. They just see it as a path to power and wealth. This is true of the politicians and the media and people like Clinton’s “Bimbo Eruption” punk at ABC.
Local Miami media is spewing the “Trump’s fault” talking points. And in between, they’re fainting over Alligator Alcatraz.
You are surprised by the Democrat’s response?
I’m not.
They have been calling President Trump names for a long time and accusing him things that only the brain dead supporters for Democrat polices could possibly believe.
Gee guest no one remembered Biden’s HURRICANE HELENE warnings and response...... NC is still digging out thanks to Americans’ who have volunteered to respond. Cricket Sound........
First thought, cloud seeding.
Some camps took the early warnings seriously and moved everyone to high ground ahead of the flooding.
I just thought it was God and this:

I’ve seen this a lot in comments about this terrible flood. The war can’t come soon enough.
I got into a really big fight here on FR with a lady from Texas because I made 5he statement that her mayor should have spent more resources on flood control instead of trying to get attention from the Democrat Party by spending his time yammering about national issues.
If people stick to their lane and prioritize CORRECTLY, things work better.
