Kaitlin was banned from ANOTHER farmers market in Winter Garden for her free speech!
It's what the grocery chains rejected.
And it's dirtier to give it that "farm" authenticity.
Maybe no one wants to hear political rambling while buying fruits and vegetables. Just because you CAN do something, it doesn’t mean it always appropriate.
I don’t recall ever having been to a farmers market.
“Maybe no one wants to hear political rambling while buying fruits and vegetables. Just because you CAN do something, it doesn’t mean it always appropriate.”
Appropriate or inappropriate.. is irrelevant.
If the organizers are not willing to PAY for the space to have some measure of control. Then they have to live with dealing with idiots “expressing” themselves in that same public space.
Even at roadside fruit and vegetable vendors.
Interesting. We applied for a booth at a public market recently and were told that there was no place for us because: “There are too many vendors who already do similar things to what you do.” What do we do? We display and sell Christian books and artwork.
I have been to the market dozens of times and I know that there are no other vendors there that do what we do. My assumption is that the reason for this is that Christian vendors are banned — which is against the law.
The people who run these things always claim to be “welcoming and inclusive.” They are not.
Kaitlin Bennet, you go girl. I was escorted to the door of a casino by armed security, twice.
Also, there’s WAY too much “look-at-me-I-need-more-subsrciibers-and-clicks!!”
Controversy and rage-bait fuel clicks and impressions.
It’s all about attention, drawn to gain fame and $.
Good points! I sell at 4 farmer’s markets and this winter 2 of them went woke. When pressed, the market managers will cave, as well as the city lawyers. Conversely, they would never allow protesters or petitioners to stand in front of downtown stores interfering with business. While the market may be public space, the event is for trade. Can protesters stand and block the gates of a NFL stadium bought and paid for with public dollars? If sales drop dramatically at these markets, can I sue the town for breach of contract?
Nextdoor is nothing but spineless commies.
Agreed. I need to block their messages.
We shop often at the farmers market. It sure brings out the loons though.
My wife was looking at some produce at one place and I whispered “Sorry, I’m not doing business with a guy wearing a dress.”
Another sold homemade hummus and proudly stated that most ingredients were sourced in some fictional county they call Palestine. Nope. Not buying any.
Most people go to Farmer’s Markets in order to forget about trending events, such as politics or sports or ‘the climate’. From my own experience:
Most go in order to smell the rotisserie chickens roasting, hear snaps, crackles and pops as the glazed kettle corn erupts from of it’s hot spinning barrels. See the colorful, well presented fruits and vegetables, bagged and ready to buy on their checkered tablecloth counter tops. Fresh cut stalks of Gladiolus are bunched and tied up for sale.
You can smell the early harvested
watermelons, strawberries and green bell peppers from yards away. You may see a local Artisan selling from his stained glass window, or pottery or ceramic brooch collections. Sometimes there may be a live band, very basic. Something that sounds like Zydeco or bluegrass, or covers of classics.
Kaitlin Bennett is a conservative activist. She started off as “gun girl” where she raised a firestorm by legally bringing her AR15 to college graduation. That is what began her career as a conservative activist.
She mocks Leftists by attending their protests and rallys and then debating them with sound arguments deconstructing their woke views, and demonstrating how they can’t support their positions with facts.
Sometimes she goes to public areas like the beach on spring break and just interviews normal people, looking to start a discussion with lefties she finds there. In that way she is kind of being irritating to people but she does leave alone those who tell her to go away, at least after a little bit of prodding.
Weeks ago she was in a farmers market in Lakeland Florida, when a Democrat official told the police to ban her. They unquestioningly did ban her and remove her from the farmers market. In short order, her lawyers appealed and the city attorney agreed that she had a first amendment free speech right to be in that public place, so she returned with a small army of conservatives, to underscore the point.
Here is the video of her returning to that farmers market.

Now another venue has illegally banished her from a public place where she has a constitutional right to free speech.
She is annoying to lefties but she knows the law and knows how far she can push it. Love her or hate her, she brings attention to woke stupidity. I don’t watch her videos, because I can’t stomach listening to the childish nonsense continually spewed by the woke Leftists she debates. They are insufferable idiots.
If I have any details wrong, someone will correct me.
I forgot how to spell “rallies”. The joy of aging.
She does not have my sympathy. Blocking vendors and customers from using a public sidewalk is not a right.
yup, I would agree. yet people pay more thinking it’s farm fresh, not days plus old
I am not suggesting it was illegal.
I am suggesting that people need to regain a sense of appropriateness and a degree of shame.
One thing MOST people learn is to not unquestioningly believe
articles at face value ...

I suspect she was doing things other than buying produce.
Been a few years since I’ve been to one. Fresh right out
of the ground or off the tree/bush. Good usually. jmo
