ERIK PRINCE: “This is not our fight. Not our party. If the Israelis want to take out this Iranian site they can use their Air Force or rent planes from any country nearby. They are trying to coerce us in.

Was that your position in 2003?

Yes, I knew from the get-go it was B.S.

I found out how by 2003, Bush had already made up his mind to invade Iraq and go after Saddam because of their threat to his dad's life. In early 2003 Bush told his aides to come up with a viable justification for the invasion. WMD's was the answer.

Well then, I applaud you.

But you understand that because of this Bright, Shining Lie told by the American government 22 years ago (and the war crimes it subsequently carried out), we are in a position where nobody believes what the American government is telling them today.

So let's put the 2003 WMD crowd on trial, and then we'll talk about the next imminent nuclear threat to the world.

I agree the guy is smart and a patriot. That doesn’t mean I have to agree with his assessment.

Iran is our sworn enemy.

They have been our enemy since the day this regime took power and started their Islamic Revolution under Ayatollah Kohemeni.

They take every chance they have to kill (((OUR))) people and have been doing so consistently since 1983: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/1983_Beirut_barracks_bombings

They do not hide their intentions.

Israel simply shares a common interest with us, they are doing our dirty work for us basically. But if Israel can’t reduce the threat of a nuclear armed Iran, then we need to take action.

Iran with a nuke is simply put, unacceptable.

He’s watching his future bread and butter disappear, as a subdued Iran wouldn’t be out there inciting terrorists any more.

The worst terrorist organizations from the standpoint of US national security have been Sunni Muslim outfits like Al Quaeda and ISIS - Iran has nothing to do with these, and in fact they hate Shia Muslims as much if not more than they hate non-Muslims. Iran does back anti-Israel militias in Syria and Lebanon, but these are Israel's problem, not ours.

In the meanwhile, the US has lifted sanctions on Syria, which is now run by Al Sharaa, a former Al Quaeda fighter. Talk about skewed priorities.

Again, let’s not mix fables with fact.

WMD’s were a fable and feeble justification for Bush’s War.

Iran’s potential nuclear capabilities are a factual threat to the U.S, Israel, and the world.

“They (Israel) could build their own (B-2 bombers).”

The U.S. - with a population of over 340 million people - could only afford to build 21 B-2s (19 now reported in service).

It doesn't seem reasonable that Israel - with a population less than 10 million people - could develop and field a similar bomber.

As the U.S. was struggling to build the then ultra-modern B-2, Israel was struggling to repair and keep in service their hand-me-down WWII half tracks, the last of which they retired about 2015.

That is separate from the astonishment I expressed when I read that Erik Prince claims Israel can rent airplanes that can do the work of the B-2s from neighboring countries. That sounds like something he just made up.

Ridiculous. And our getting involved will be an unmitigated disaster for the US.

I have my doubts about the ability of a bunker buster to take out the Iranian facility.

Most of the 60% U-235 has probably been solidified so the centrifuges can continue processing uranium. This has probably been removed from the facilities and hidden away.

A few hundred centrifuges from an enrichment site or the centrifuge factory have probably been hidden away too.

The regime must be made to cough up the 60% U-235 and all the centrifuges. A B-2 and a bunker buster are not sufficient in themselves for that.

“And our getting involved will be an unmitigated disaster for the US.”

We are already involved in countless ways, including providing deadly ordnance and deadly aircraft. You know the Israeli F-15s, F-18s, and F-35s were built in the United States.

Is it your recommendation that we apologize to Iran and run away to prevent “unmitigated disaster”?

If you thought candidate Trump intended to stand aside and allow Iran to build nuclear weapons you misunderstood his statements.

No. Don’t go bombing them. That’s not so hard, is it?

If we do, as they have said, we will have our bases in the region bombed. Service members killed.

And then we Will be in WWIII.

Try to think it through.

It certainly impacts us, but I think the efforts have to be 2-fold: to get rid of the nukes and the crazy regime, and to facilitate a regime change that more adequately reflects the will of most of the Iranian people, which has less to do with Isolamism and more to do with prosperity for families.

It’s the same thing that Trump is working on in Gaza: giving people the option of expecting/hoping for more than to be used as cannon fodder for an Islamist regime that relies on terrorism. If the people of these places can see that there is a way to not just lose a war but to actually win the chance for peace and prosperity, that hope can make a profound difference. It’s why it is so heinous that the Obama regime did not support the secular opposition in Iran when it had the chance.

One of the barriers to the non-terrorist people in these regions trusting the genuine help of the US and the west in general is that they think we don’t care about them, the little people. We’re willing to let them be used as cannon fodder and always side with Israel, who has not always been in the right while facing the ever-present risk of extinction. Trump is a peace-maker; he desires to hear all legitimate concerns and build trust by doing so. We need that.

So we can stay out of it and let Israel take out the nukes and probably this regime. And we can let Trump build trust that will enable a rebuild to stability. We need both parts.

I don't doubt your word but, for the tally book, which countries neighboring Israel rents out B-2s?

Forgive me for not buying it.

The government of the Greatest Country in the World committed a crime against humanity of catastrophic scale based on the threat of WMDs. Nobody even resigned over this.

Now I'm being fed the same line. (But this time, we really do mean it.)

Too bad.

I just saw a tweet that there may be some ground operation near Fordow.

May be a lie, may not be. Who knows?

Your screen name suggests you are a Trump supporter, which is good.

You might want to consider turning your attention elsewhere and letting Trump handle your concerns; it clearly appears he is capable of doing so.
