Will we soon witness the world’s first nuclear war? Following nuclear-armed India’s attack on nuclear-armed Pakistan, media outlets all over the globe quickly published stories about the possibility of nuclear war. In fact, this morning the main headline on the Drudge Report was “WORLD HOLDS BREATH” in all capital letters. Yes, it is entirely possible that a nuclear war could erupt between India and Pakistan. But will someone else use nuclear weapons first?
In the Middle East, a showdown is looming between Israel and Iran. We know that Israel possesses nuclear weapons, and there are some experts that are convinced that the Iranians have also acquired nukes. If an all-out war erupts between Israel and Iran, I have a feeling that both sides will be forced to show what cards they are holding.
If the Iranians do have nukes, they may have gotten them from the North Koreans. If a major war erupts on the Korean peninsula, and that is a very real possibility, the North Koreans would not hesitate to use nuclear weapons.
In Europe, the conflict in Ukraine definitely has the potential to go nuclear. The Ukrainians have targeted Moscow with drone attacks for three days in a row, and they are threatening to attack Russia’s Victory Day parade in Moscow on May 9th. If that happens, we are being warned that Kyiv could be wiped “off the face of the Earth”. Let us hope that the Russians will continue to resist the temptation to use tactical nukes against Ukraine, because if that line is crossed any hope of peace with Russia will be completely gone.

“There is no country going to pull the nuclear weapon trigger first.”
You are assuming people in charge are always logical.
What if the threat of Nuclear Destruction is just a Bugaboo.
Bugaboo: anything imaginary that causes needless fright; something used to excite needless fear; an imaginary monster used to frighten children.
LOL, waiting for a host of people to enter the thread to say “THEY WON’T BE THE FIRST TO USE NUCLEAR WEAPONS!”
Heh, first post!
Why?
Randolph Bourne answered that question over a hundred years ago.
Note that timimg.
“War is the health of the State.”
I had this experience the day before yesterday when I made the same comment, and a blizzard of people posted saying “THEY WON’T BE THE FIRST!”
It was weird, as if people have the need to make that point because they fail to realize that no sentient person needs that to be said, because it is wholly understood the discussion is, and has always been for the last eighty years, to be a discussion of post WWII use of nuclear weapons.
It is an odd dynamic. But kind of humorous to see it play out as if that unsaid aspect of it, the “post WWII” part, needs to be said.
It is almost as if any discussion of a municipal water supply or a drought would need to start with a “Water is wet” statement!
I believe it will be Islam or the Israelis.
If it is the Israelis, I fully expect it to be justified by circumstances.
If it is Islam, it won’t.
My money is on the Pakis.
My money is on terrorist who gain control of Pakistani nukes after the government collapses
Well, the Ruskies knew.
Regards,
Is it something you want? Is it what you’ve been waiting for all these decades? :)
If it doesn’t happen, dont worry.
There’s always next year. :)
Fair enough.
we did when no one else had any. you left out that little tidbit.
A regime that is about to go bye bye. Think Hitler in the bunker paranoid crazy. Think Stalin if he was watching a foreign army closing in on Moscow. Think Dresden and Nagasaki — two mass murder events done only to demonstrate the ability to commit mass murder. Think religious fanatics trying to bring about a showing from an Imam or second coming.
Victory and advantage means different things to different people at different times.
Yup. Even the evil governments realize that they have too much to lose by using them.
Not sure the muzzies are capable of that advanced though processes.
Here is a made up scenario. When all of Russia’s nukes were removed from Ukraine back in the 90’s, what’s to say that not all of them were removed? The accuracy of the counting of the nukes as well as the trust that all the nukes were removed, identified and destroyed is subject to question.
Now, what if Ukraine goes public and confirms they still have a few nukes that were missed in the 90’s? How does this change Europe?
“ Create a scenario were any country gains an advantage or victory firing the FIRST strike nuclear attack at their enemy. Go ahead this ought to be good.”
Just make sure Iran doesn’t have nukes. Some people don’t mind dying. 72 virgins and all.
We tried harder
We all know that the muzzies are nuts. If they’re willing to strap on a suicide vest, then I’m thinking the Pakis or Iranians will use them first. Depopulation of India, Iran, and parts of China could happen this year.
