BREAKING: If Republican Senators Do Not Confirm Ed Martin as US Attorney for Washington DC – Dirty Judge Boasberg Will Pick His Temporary Replacement
Gateway Pundit ^ | May 5, 2025 | Jim Hoft

Posted on 05/05/2025 9:17:21 AM PDT by Macho MAGA Man

Ed Martin is currently the Acting US Attorney for the District of Columbia. President Trump recently announced he nominated Ed for a permanent position as one of the country’s top cops.

Democrats and January 6 prosecutors are now targeting Ed Martin because they fear him and what he may expose.

In February, Ed Martin launched an investigation into threats against DOGE workers and revealed Democrat Senator Chuck Schumer as the target.

Ed Martin also launched an inquiry into former US Attorney Matthew Graves’ prosecutions of more than 1,500 January 6 protestors. He is specifically probing Graves’ abuse of the 1512(c)(2) obstruction charge.

.... Snip....

Now, Democrats are striking back and targeting Ed Martin for ruin. Despite their clear minority in the US Senate, they are hoping to block Ed Martin’s confirmation so that crooked Judge Boasberg, who believes he is the sitting president, will be able to pick Ed’s temporary replacement.

And, once again, it appears that numerous RINO Senators are siding with Democrats on Ed Martin. Republican voters need to get activated!

Lara Logan published a tweet on X with four possible turncoats. Senators: Collins, Tillis, Cornyn and Cassidy.

And, of course, there are rumblings that Mitch McConnell will vote against Ed Martin. How disgusting.

Republicans face a May 20 deadline to confirm Ed Martin otherwise Judge Boasberg appoints his replacement.

According to DeepNewz, if the Senate does not act by this date, Judge James Boasberg could appoint a replacement U.S. Attorney under a law that allows federal judges to fill vacancies that remain unoccupied for an extended period. Supporters of Martin, including conservative figures and activists, have urged Senate Republicans to expedite his confirmation to prevent Boasberg, perceived as a left-leaning judge, from selecting a successor.

I left the R party around 2003. I see the two parties as two wings of the same party. The R’s have an opportunity here to prove me wrong.

And Trump can promptly fire Boasbergs appointment the next day. Then he can assign the US Attorney for Lubbock Texas to take over the DC office.

US Attorneys are confirmed or not. But they are not confirmed only for one district. It would be easy to get around this unconstitutional challenge.

Cornyn won’t do it, he is in a tough race against Ken Paxton in Texas.

Does a federal judge really have the authority to appoint a member of the executive branch? That clearly seems counter to Article2 of the Constitution.

Only reason I am staying with the Republican party is because the only other choice with chance of winning is simply horrible.

Trump can simply fire anyone Boasberg appoints, and so on ad infinitum.

Yeah. That’s why, though I’m independent, I always vote republican. What I like about Trump is that I see him as independent. He just had to join one of the parties if he wanted to win. And he picked the “not silly” party.

Ever see the republican party do anything to help Trump? And by doing so help America and themselves.

I have to admit that it took me a few years to not still see myself as a republican. But it’s been over 20 years now, so I’m over it.

I see the two parties as playing “good cop, bad cop” with us. and which one you see as the good cop is the one that seems to align with your values. Trump was a breath of fresh air. And it all started when he simply DID what other presidents said they would do - but never did - move the embassy to Jerusalem.

They all lied about that, and so much more. Every single one of them. Oh sure, they all had excuses, but the real reason was either greed or cowardice. Or both.

I trust a man who gained his wealth by building things way more than someone who gained their wealth in a career of politics.

If Cornyn votes no he may be toast in Texas! I know it is early yet, but Cornyn is down in the polls to Ken Paxton, the Texas Attorney General who will be running against Cornyn in the 2026 republican primary!

The Republican party of today is far better than the Republican party of four years ago. And the Republican party of four years ago was far better than the 2017 Republican party (Remember Paul Ryan?). It still has a ways to go, but we never would have gotten this far if we had abandoned the party. If you’re not in the party, then you give up your vote and you allow the establishment to dictate the party’s direction.

If there was a viable alternative to the GOP that was more attuned to the party’s base, I’d support it. But unless and until that happens, remaining registered as a Republican gives you more influence than you’ll have by simply checking out.

I've done a deeper dive on the Vacancies Act here with some conjecture;
https://freerepublic.com/focus/chat/4287546/posts?page=6630#6630

I'm sure I'm missing something here, but under the Vacancies Act,
the first acting is good for 300 days. The next “acting” is good for 210 days...and I “think” he\she can be reappointed acting 1 more time...

so how does Boasberg even get his nose under the tent here...
